7 Ways To Practice Music Self-Care

For about a year I was married to the idea of posting self-care post on Sundays to be in line with the self-care Sundays trend, but I promised my readers at least one post a month this year. This Sunday my day didn’t go as planned and instead of waiting until the following Sunday, I decided to write the blog when I had the time. Coming up with this month’s self-care post took some serious thought because I wasn’t sure what else to say about sound and self-care, I felt like I said all that needed to be said in last month’s post. But my regular reader’s know how this process is for me; I’m alwa ..read more

7 Self-Care Ideas That Involves Sounds

I got the idea for a sound self-care blog post focus from a 14 day challenge that I’m participating in, on my social media platform. Some of the challenges so far has been listening to your favorite love songs and watching a chick flick. Those ideas made me realize that as much as a I wrote about self-care last year, I have never used watching tv/movies or listening to music as self-care ideas. With that said, I decided to focus on sound self-care for the next four months. Last year my self-care focus was monthly and each week I provided seven different focus. This year my goal is to blog mon ..read more

Ideas For A Yearly Self-Care Goal

Happy New Year! I was not expecting to post a blog today and if you’re one of my regulars, then you probably already know why. But while I was reading today, I came up with the idea of possibly trying to read one book each month for the rest of the year. If I follow through with this, I would literally have a self-care goal for each month of the year. The idea gave me the inspiration for this blog post. This post will not be like the others; meaning, it won’t be self-care ideas that you can incorporate in your routine for the next 365 days, instead it will be a post that will help you craft a ..read more

Per my usual, it’s the end of the month which means it’s time for the monthly wellness roundup post. If you’re not familiar, every Wednesday of each month I write a wellness/wellbeing post that’s centered around self-development and motivation. I also focus on a specific topic for the month. Last month’s topic was Relationships but I did not do a wellness round up last month but you can read the post HERE, HERE, and HERE. For this month my topic was centered around Self-Respect. I thought it would be a great idea to do a round up post at the end of the month which entails me providi ..read more

7 Work Self-Care Ideas You Can Use In Any Work Situations

Much like the Wellness Wednesday post this past week, this will be my last Self-Care Sunday post for the year and even though it doesn’t mean I’m giving up blogging, I’m not sure what my self-care blog focus will be like in 2022. I think the reason for my indecisiveness is, I don’t want to go into the new year with the same template I had for the blogging in 2021. I’ve spent most of the fall trying to contemplate what my approach will be for self-care in 2022. I’ve often asked myself, how can I take self-care to the next level? What will it look like? And I continue to draw blanks. In additio ..read more

Why Self-Respect Is So Important

Since next week Wednesday will be my wellness roundup post the for the month, it’s bittersweet for me to say that this will potentially be the last Wellness Wednesday focus. This does not mean I’m giving up blogging, I”m just still uncertain about my focus for the blog in 2022. What I know for certain is there is a good chance that I will not be posting twice per week next year. Furthermore, this time last year I knew that I wanted to provide a weekly self-care challenge on Sundays and a weekly wellness focus on Wednesdays. I have no plans like that for next year I just know that I don’t want ..read more

7 Work Self-Care Ideas For Frequent Travelers

At the beginning of the month I mentioned that I was going to try and incorporate ideas for a variety of working situations. Last week I blogged about self-care ideas for people who worked from home and this week I want to take a stab at providing options for those who travel often for work. I have no experience in this area so hopefully the ideas I provide is conducive to the typical travel worker. With the pandemic going on I’m not sure if there is much work travel going on or if the travelers have transitioned over to the virtual world. I’m sure there are still some travel workers out ther ..read more

I wasn’t expecting to write a Sunday Self-Care post today. Usually my blog post are written a head of time so they can go live by midnight the day they’re due but yesterday didn’t go as planned so I made a decision to skip my Sunday post this week. It’s still Sunday and I have no rule that says my blogs have to be posted on a certain day at a certain time so I decided to go off my own beaten path and write my Sunday post on Sunday night. A lot of us have been working from home for almost two years now, and if you’re not working from home full time then you’re likely on a hybrid schedule. I th ..read more

Don’t get it twisted and don’t be mislead by the title, reading this blog post does not mean you’ll suddenly learn how to respect yourself right away. This almost goes without saying, most things take practice and if you’re not accustomed to a certain behavior, you’ll have to practice several times before it turns into a habit. With that said, the exercises that I’m providing in this post will have to be practiced continuously before you’ll start to see some movement towards forming more respect for yourself. Last week I provided a few tools to help us identify what self-respect isn’t; becaus ..read more

7 Ways To Practice Self-Care At Work

At the beginning of the year I made the decision to create my monthly self-care challenges around a specific focus for each month. For the first five months the challenges were centered around the five love languages since then I’ve created challenges around emotional, physical, space, and social self-care just to name a few. We are finally at the end of the year and the end of the monthly focus. For the final month in the year, the self-care focus will be work self-care, a concept that I don’t think we talk about enough. Work can be very stressful and it takes up a great deal of our time so ..read more
