Just thought I'd ask who else has speakers from this brand. I acquired a pair of Helicon 300 Mk2 speakers and a "Mentor" sub and I've stayed up way too late listening last night. These speakers sound unreal good to me. The Kappa 7.1s I have are no match for the detail and sound stage these speakers produce. I'm hearing a way more distinct difference between my two disc players with these as well. Anyone else have Dali speakers? I'm insanely impressed. They also look like a million dollars... Hello fellow AKers, I received a pair of IMF Studio's from a family friend a while back. I replaced the dead b110 woofers and had been using them however the quality seemed to be off and finally got to me. I used a tube to listen to each driver and noticed that the super tweeters didn't seem to be making any sound and one of the audex square tweeters wasn't either. Not sure if this is right approach,since I've not used the speakers board before. I feel the need to move up in my speakers. My integrated is a Pioneer SA-9100, or another SA-9100 or an SA-8500 II. I think they get looked at as Japenese mid-fi, but I've had NAD, and have Parasound and Rotel amps that are bigger, but I like the sound of the Pioneer better. Can someone recommend good replacement caps for these? They have a 3 position switch. I tried a search, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of info about these. I bought a pair of these quite a while ago along with some 511Bs to play with. As I've mentioned to Bowtie one of these was way down in volume so Tom mentioned checking DCR and should that be good to swap diaphragms. Having never taken a driver apart I was apprehensive but managed to do so sans incident. The diaphragms are labeled 21545. Both measured out at 5.7 Ohms.
