He was responsible for Electro-voice (Hyperbolic) and JBL (Bi-Radial) wide dispersion horns in the 1970's - 1980's. Typically either design will offer no less than 100 degree horizontal dispersion at high frequencies.    http://www.xlrtechs.com ..read more

Author: fudge22 Subject: Midrange compression driver development Posted: 23 April 2024 at 7:46pm I think the photos are misleading then. The onlyreal discontinuity is the change from a round throat to a square horn. Thischange is made less drastic by the triangles in the corners. But i also did ameasurement without those triangles and even that had no significant effect onthe response.   Ah! Sorry. From the photos, it looks like the front of the3D printed phase plug is flat, and that there is a ring around the exit, perpendicular to the horn axis, where the printed part attaches to t ..read more

Author: Timebomb Subject: Midrange compression driver development Posted: 23 April 2024 at 4:27pm I would try extending the central part of the plug into the the horn throat, try and smooth the transition.  What does the impedance response look like around 2KHz?   ..read more

Author: scrhz Subject: MC2 Audio - E Series Discontinued? Posted: 23 April 2024 at 3:30pm I guess they've still got class AB offerings in the install & studio categories respectively, so the newer Delta is probably too similar in characteristics to the E-series to warrant supporting 2 distinct touring amp categories which are already fairly close in pricepoint. I would also imagine E series is more susceptible to needing service & repair due to class AB being less efficient than class D/more heat etc. but might be wrong there ..read more

Author: JBK Subject: Question about the Behringer NX6000D Posted: 23 April 2024 at 3:12pm According to the manual, the crossover (set at the back of the amp) works for both channel. so it won't allow setting the hpf on one channel and lpf on the other (quite stupid imho) Also the Xover frequency is not able to be set, which greatly reduces it interest. The NX6000D has a DSP, but I found very little info on the specs of the DSP, so I can't say for sure if there are xover capabilities per channel. Maybe someone with a NX DSP amp can chime in, or someone with a link of full spec / doc of the amp ..read more
