I have a ‘89 civic dx. It try’s to turn on but then just won’t start no matter how long you leave it there. There’s a spark from the distributor (placed a screwdriver inside to see if it shocks me) but when I put the cap on it doesn’t send tit o the spark plugs. So I tired every individual one ( the plugs to spark plug) by sticking metal inside and seeing if it sends some sort of electrical signal but I’ve got nothing. I don’t know what to do anymore. It was sitting since 2019, got it to run for a bit, drove it aorund for about 20 min. The next day it doesn’t even want to start. I changed the ..read more

I have a 01 Civic HX that I’ve been having nonstop issues with and I just need my car back asap. Originally, the only code the car has ever had was an o2 code that went away as soon as I replaced it and it hasn’t came back since then and I’ve gotten no others. I ended up replacing the first catalytic converter(it has 2) that’s built into the manifold and the thing was literally busted into a million pieces inside, but that didn’t fix the problem at all so I was going to just go ahead and replace the 2nd cat that’s underneath the engine but I’m just not sure since there’s ZERO codes to even hel ..read more

Hey, just recently got a 97 Gli 4-door sedan with 50,000km, it’s an auto, was wondering how my transmission will cope with shifting like a manual. I have little knowledge of civics and dont know whether the gearbox can take being shifted from 1,2,D3,D4. I’ve never shifted all the way through while im driving, just because i dont want to do things to the gearbox when i dont know what kind of damage it might be doing, but i have dropped from d4 to d3 when doing pulls. Any info helps, Thanks ..read more

she had been running like a watch then loud under hood screech and loss of power - i think this signals a distributor problem. of course these are un-obtainium so i sourced the same cap and rotor that were on the car. Like a dip **** I unplugged all the wires from the old cap before taking pics or marking old cap - urggggh. thanks all and happy honda-ing
1. do i need to do anything w timing - i did bump the motor to see which way the rotor spun (clockwise if viewing from front bumper)? if i did not bump the motor would i need to adjust distributor or anything?
2. i have the old clymer manual ..read more

Hey Everyone! I have a long drive coming up. Recently discovered missing bolts from my Rear Motor Mount.
2004 Honda Civic EX, D17A2, ES2, Manual Transmission.
Rear Motor Mount, by the firewall.
3 bolts on the bottom that go in by the exhaust through that piece of framing.
dealership calls for 10x110, 10x80, 10x20. I need the Thread pitch size. Is it 1.25, 1.5, or 1.75??
also, I’m at a hardware store. All they have is 10x100, 10x75, and 10x20. Will the 10x100 and 10x75 work in place of the 10x110, and 10x80 ..read more
