Yes after 2 seasons with the the 4r70w is going out, sold already. So I got a gold of a TKO500 a few weeks ago. Changed the sync to carbonrings, forkpads, inputshaft bearing etc. Did an overhaul and now its back together. Picture of the install will come :-) The 4r70w Performed perfect I just always wanted a stick shift. When the TKO surfaced I had to grab it ..read more

The last time I was in Belgium, I snap a photo of an unusual Ford convertible. Never did get close enough to speak to the owner. Often wondered what this car was. Only knew that it looked like a factory Ford product. Any one have any ideas what this is? Features? Costs, etc?? Mac ..read more

I inherited an MGR V8 like this one from my dad a few years ago. 1994 3.9L Rover V8, 5 Speed Gearbox. Leather interior. Woodcote Green paint. !983 hand built in England. This one was originally sent to Japan when new and then dad imported it to Australia through an importer in Sydney who made it comply with Australian laws. Goes fairly hard and is like driving an oversized go-kart. Dad raced it at various tracks around Australia ..read more

Convertible Top with Glass - Measurement needed

you may see this in another forum, as i wanted to ensure i reached the vert people also. I am in the process of putting on my new vert top with a 'glass' rear window. In doing the process, the inner pads were installed and removed several times during the fitting which is normal and they are all set. We are now at the point where the first installment of the rear window is being done. From the rear well moulding to the rear bow it is set at 25 inches as required. My question is, what do others have for a measurement from the edge of the rear well moulding to the bottom of the glass? At the mom ..read more

Power steering pump ford 429/460

Hello I have a mustang mach 1 1972 with a 429/460. My power steering pump is still healing after renovation at a company, so now I was thinking of buying a new one but do not know which ones are suitable. I have original servo hoses so pumps that fit the motor do not fit with the hoses. I also need mounts for the pump because the ones I have now seem to be home-built for my current pump. Attach some pictures of my pump and motor. Which of these would fit and be best? Links to a few different things I have looked at. https://www.cjponyparts.com/borgeson-power-steering-hose-adapter-fitting-sagin ..read more

And Christmas crept up on me ...again

Baahhh Humbug ! Christmas is a reminder that I'm getting closer to death... ... especially when against my will I'm forcibly dragged around all the local shopping Malls, by the genetic disorders that make up my family - the music makes me feel like I am actually living in hell....thus death would be a sweet reprieve. When you've been in the fifth shop and Cliff "effing" Richard is on the speakers again, you know you are getting real close to planning how to murder all those songwriters. .... I don't know how the people working in the shops, that are forced to listen to that puerile, sickening ..read more

Need advice on exhaust > header connection

1973 351C 4V vert, 4 speed I installed FPA headers on my car and am about to install a new exhaust. My question is connecting the exhaust to the headers. The headers end in a 3" collector. The headers included a ball coupling reduced to 2.5". In the attached photos, the outward flanged piece connects to the headers via the 2 bolt flange included. That all bolts up fine. The 2.5" exhaust includes a flanged end which I suspect bolts up to stock manifolds. The ball coupling reducer fits inside the flanged end of the exhaust fine, but I have no way to bolt in together. I don't yet weld (though wil ..read more

Winter. Need heat from the heater.

Episode #356 of "still trying to put the old gal together". Dec 23: brrr, it's cold outside and so have to turn to getting some heat out of the HVAC system. As is, blower works good, air comes out of the right openings (matches what the controls are set at) but the temperature control provides the same temp regardless of setting, "tepid". I know moving the temp lever is supposed to change a door in the heater box *and* activate a vacuum driven valve under the hood. Observing the heater box I can see the cable move and hear a door change position; the only question there is the valve controllin ..read more
