My Alternator will not charge
StangNet

I installed a new alternator after the old one took a crap, and after the first drive, it stopped charging. I’ve checked all the fuses and the battery indicator lamp, and the connector that powers the lamp doesn’t have any power going into one of the terminals to power the lamp. it’s the LG/R wire. Could it just be the wire is broken somewhere in the loom ..read more

T5 issues

Im trying to get some loose ends buttoned up on my build and need some advice. I found a WC T5 out of a 95 GT to use in my 93 LX. This transmission sat in the previous owners garage for several years without fluid in it. When I bought the T5, I pulled the tail shaft and top cover to do an inspection. Everything "looked" ok except for the fact the internals were dryer than a popcorn fart. I reassembled everything and installed in my car. The issues I'm having is hard gear selecting. 1-4 is... Does anyone manufacture a stock style fiberglass hood? Meaning not a cowl induction or with any other look other than Ford OEM? I can't seem to find anything other than one on Ebay which I suspect is Chinese made and will require a lot of care to make it look right ..read more

HELP!! I have a 93 Mustang LX 2.3L auto with 85k. I installed a TransGo shift kit to the letter, according to the instructions. While it solved the stalling when put in gear problem, now it's very soft and slow going into reverse when cold. Once warm, I can't feel it go into reverse at all, but apparently it does shift since it moves back when I apply throttle, but it slips a lot, requiring me to rev it more than I feel comfortable. I've started parking where I can roll backward or drive... Read more ..read more

My father and I bought a 4 cylinder 92 calypso LX with 14k original miles back in 2022. It’s a car we had planned on coyote swapping together but four days after his birthday in August he passed. Alone I am not able to afford the necessary drive train components to complete our project as planned so until I can one day afford the do the project right I am hoping to swap in an original 5.0 to hold down the fort until I can afford to do it right. I am wondering where I should look to get... Read more ..read more

2011 GT Passenger Window issue... weird
StangNet
by YFinder

The passenger window will not operate from the switch or from the drivers master switch. The auto up/down works when the vehicle is off and the door is opened or closed but not when the vehicle is running. Fuses test ok, power at the fuse leg is <12v (11.xx) Assuming the motor works if the auto up/down is happening, but can't find this gremlin and before i start throwing parts at it, I figured that i'd see if anyone else had a similar problem. Btw, the only fuse i can find for the... Read more ..read more

Alternator replacement
StangNet
by JJHstang

My alternator went out on my 71 Mustang Mach 1. The engine is currently a 351 Windsor 4 bbl carb. Originally came out of the plant with a 302 2 bbl with AC. I bought it with the 351 and it had a 2 bbl with adapter. I had the adapter removed and got a 4 bbl from Summit racing. The alternator on it that went bad is a Bestest 01-0155X with a number 73006103. I would like to find the correct replacement. I think I found the exact one at O’Oriellys for approximately $69. Looking for thoughts... Read more ..read more

Wideband failure

I've been reading that wideband sensors don't like being heated before engine start. I'm trying to solve the cause for my Innovate MTX-L & Bosch LSU 4.9 sensor malfunctioning now twice in 2 months. Why they have a built in heater doesn't make sense in that case. But nevertheless, I am wondering if there is any better signal wire to indicate engine running than the fuel pump circuit? I'd like the best indicator of the running engine to trigger the relay ..read more
