Hello everyone, just wanted to introduce myself and my new Mustang!
She’s only had one owner and is all original and came with a couple of folders filled with maintenance records, original sticker, and owner’s manual.
It’s been so fun going through all of the documents the car came with and just reading about the engines and history of the early Mustang.
So just wanted to say hello to everyone and that I’m glad I found this forum ..read more

G'day guys. I am still in the early stages of exploring the car. The motor is very standard 4V 351C (M code '71).
I took it for a test run the other day. When I checked the freshly topped up radiator the following day it had dropped to below the top radiator hose. (but no coolant dripped on the garage floor). Topped it up again and took it for another spin tonite. Pulled up to a mates house and I could see coolant dripping roughly in the middle of the radiator.
The temp was full hot as...

Hey Guys,
So I recently picked up 65 fastback. Car ran hot, so I replaced the radiator, added electric contour fans and moved the battery to the trunk.
Went to start the car after these mods and it started, but died quickly. Started again, and when pressing the gas, it would die.
Troubleshooted today and determined fuel was getting to the carb. Moved on to ignition, and found no spark at the coil. Jumped the coil + post with the battery post at the solenoid, and car immediately started...

Hello all, I recently purchased a 65 toploader that i'm putting in my 68 coupe and it came with the stock linkages but not the shifter itself. I have a factory shifter housing/shift handle but i don't know if it needs a mounting plate or if it just bolts to the tranny itself. I've seen a thousand different mounts and i know most are from hurst. I didn't know if anyone knows the factory setup. The tranny is and HEH-G ..read more

Ok I’m starting a new post, as my last post on this issue was nearly 3 years ago, and I‘m too lazy to find it…
I’ve finally finished the 390 rebuild and have installed the motor in my 70 coupe. As a refresher, the 390 developed a crack in a water jacket in the lifter valley. The cause may have ultimately been the famous “Texas freeze” we had a few years ago, but not 100% on that. I sourced a new virgin block, and took all my parts to machine shop. I ended up doing a full rebuild, including...

fired the new engine last week, and finally got a chance to take the car out today. engine is running good, holding 50 psi oil pressure at warm idle, excellent throttle response. while it was down i also swapped in a 16:1 steering box, and holy crap, i should have done that soooo much sooner, what a difference.
felt good to dive it again, last time i had it out was dec '21 ! between getting really sick , building the new engine, and just being plain lazy, it's been 2 1/2 years ..read more

I'm getting ready to run fuel lines for new efi set up on my 67 vert. Running braided with AN fittings for fuel and return. My thought was to stay as close to stock locations to eliminate any issues when putting in exhaust. But stripped car down a long time and don't recall exactly. Be interested in seeing what other have done. Any pictures appreciated. thanks in advance ..read more
