The Bengals return eight of the nine White starters they had in 2022, with only tight end Hayden Hurst moving on. And why not, as the team has become very successful with its current nucleus. QB Joe Burrow has lived up to his first overall draft status and then some, recently being rewarded with the richest contract in league history. He's smart as a whip, has a very accurate arm and can be mobile when need be. His biggest problem since turning pro has been the beating he takes at times... Read more ..read more

The Bengals are one of the “relatively White friendliest” teams in the NFL, much like the team they faced in the Super Bowl last season, the Los Angeles Rams. The biggest weakness by far on last year’s team was the offensive line, with the result that improving it was a major priority this offseason. It’s gone from 4/5 Black last year to 4/5 White in 2022, but the Steelers made mincemeat of it in Week one. Hopefully that was an aberration and as the team jells the line will play better... Logan Wilson, an early third round draft pick in 2020, suffered through a racial apprenticeship his rookie season though he did see the field somewhat as a backup before an injury derailed him for the last few games of the 2020 season. He ended up with 23 solo tackles, 10 assists, 2 interceptions and a sack. This year he'll be starting on the Bengals' 4-3; most depth charts have him at WLB though he should be in the middle. The Bengals are also unique in that they will have Sam Hubbard... Cincinnati Bengals General Thread ..read more

Trey Hendrickson has tied an NFL record by recording a sack in 9 straight games. He's tied for fifth among the league's sack leaders with 12.5. T. J. Watt currently leads the league with 16 sacks despite missing some games with injuries. Nick Bosa is tied for third with 14. Joey Bosa is tied for fifteenth with 8.5 sacks. The only other White player among the top 47 is Sam Hubbard who is tied for 20th with 7.5. As is almost always the case, the few White players "allowed" to play... Trey Hendrickson ..read more

Here's another nice article about Trent, replete with a highlights video (mute the sound unless you want to hear a hideous rap song). Why wide receiver Trent Taylor is an NFL Draft steal for the 49ers https://ninernoise.com/2017/05/12/49ers-wide-receiver-trent-taylor-nfl-draft-steal ..read more

Sam Hubbard

Sam Hubbard was named starting right defensive end on the Bengals' first training camp depth chart, a not unexpected development given how well he played as a rookie last year as a rotational player. Now that Marvin X is finally gone, maybe Alex Erickson will also get some significant playing time, as mentioned recently in the Erickson thread in the Bengals forum. I expect Hubbard to get lots of tackles and a fair amount of sacks as well. Justin Smith might be a good comparison.... Sam Hubbard ..read more

Cris Collinsworth Highlights

Well before turning into Aunt Crissy, Cris Collinsworth was a helluva wide receiver. Drafted by the Bengals in the second round in 1981, he made the Pro Bowl as a rookie and two other times. He was tall, skinny and fast. He had a short career, just six full seasons before injuries shortened his '87 and '88 seasons, after which he retired and went to law school. In his six full seasons he went over 1,000 yards four times, just missing with 989 in 1984. He had 700 yards in the strike... Cris Collinsworth Highlights ..read more

Franchise quarterback Andy Dalton returns to lead the Bengals in 2017, while affirmative action Rooney Rule head coach Marvin "X" Lewis inexplicably still has his job despite not winning a playoff game since the Eisenhower administration. The Bengals are surprisingly White-friendly this year, despite not having the best Caste reputation. Here are your White 2017 Cincinnati Bengals (starters in bold): QB - Andy Dalton, AJ McCarron WR - Alex Erickson TE - Tyler Eifert,... 2017 Cincinnati Bengals ..read more

Who’d a thunk it? The Cincinnati Bengals with 23 White players on their roster to begin the 2016 regular season! And they have some very interesting White players who aren’t starters, such as Alex Ericson, Rex Burkhead, Nick Vigil and Clayton Fejedelem. Of course the Bengals are rather notorious for acquiring and then discarding White players at “black” positions, so only time will tell, but the sheer number of White players – including 15 on offense – is encouraging. Andy Dalton, aka... 2016 Cincinnati Bengals ..read more
