Hi! I created Foodbaby out of my passion for food and photography. Growing up cross-culturally in Saudi, Taiwan, and traveling with family, I developed a love for trying new foods and wanted to document my meals on Instagram to help me remember them. Over time, as my collection of food photos and videos grew, I decided to create this blog to help other fellow foodies and adventurers find yummy..

A 4-in-1 adventure on Stegosaurus Ridge, Dagui Waterfall Teapot Mountain, and 古早風味甕仔雞 Chicken Restaurant in Ruifang
Just two weeks after the toughest hike of my life, I found myself on a mountain again facing jutting rocks going straight up into the sky before dipping into the mountain and ocean below.
Stegosaurus Ridge is known as Taiwan’s toughest day-hike, and I can see why. Although it was difficult it was incredibly exhilarating, with so much to see along the way.
Our Stats

Must-try soba by Zenkoji Temple in Nagano
Kitanoya Soba opened its doors in 1903, mostly to guests visiting the 7th century Zenkoji Temple nearby. For 100 years, the Kitano family served home made cut soba with a secret-recipe broth.

Eat at Mi Jian omakase for a date night or dinner with friends
‘CP’ in Taiwan is a performance indicator, telling people the cost to performance ratio of experiences. If something is really good and at a reasonable price you would say it has high CP.
Like the omakase at Mi Jian which has a great CP, at a starting price of around 1400ntd ($43 USD), you get creative starters, a wide array of carefully prepared nigiri, fried fish, mini don bowls, fruit, and dessert.
There are two 米匠 Mi Jian restaurants in Taipei – and finding seating shouldn’t be too difficult. We booked 米匠Mi Jian in Da Zhi nei ..read more

Urban exploration by the sea, in an abandoned building in Taitung.
On a drive down to Taitung, we passed by lanes and lanes of trees, until in the corner, tucked away by a cliff we glimpsed a peak of a roof, and gaping walls with the telltale signs of painted graffiti telling us this was an abandoned building.
The grass was overgrown, clinging to our pants as we crawled in. Once inside, we realized how large the space was. We were instantly greeted with multiple floors and huge windows looking out to the ocean.
Venturing in further, we happened across quirky graffiti that covered the walls le ..read more

Since visiting several years ago, Xiaoliuqiu (小琉球, or also known as Lambai Island), has quickly become a favorite hidden getaway of mine. Every year I head down, either with friends or on a solo-trip to get away from the busy and wet city, into the quiet seaside island.
With clear, beautiful oceans filled with sea turtles, and cooler weather, the small island off the south of Taiwan is a favorite for those looking to snorkel, relax on quiet sands, and enjoy.
