Blakes Seacock Skin Fitting

I was looking at the heads seacocks this morning and I'm a bit confused by them. They are Blakes seacocks on a Trapper 501 and have presumably been on the boat from new (1982). The thing that I'm confused about is that there doesn't seem to be a skin fitting on the outside of the hull. Inside there are the usual 4 studs with the seacock bolted to them but on the outside absolutely nothing, just a neat round hole. In fact all the skin fittings (heads, engine inlet, cockpit drains) are the... Read more ..read more

Hi I inherited this chartplotter on my recently purchased yacht. It works fine but it has an out of date map and no type of sd card installed. I'm wondering if it's going to be viable to update the map or better/cheaper to just use my tablet. Bw Nick ..read more

Yacht cradle: Note the heavy centre section which bears the keel is not shown on this photo which was taken when I was trying it for size. The lower sections are galvanised and the Acrow props are painted. No rust and in good condition. * The whole thing can be dismantled and carried in a medium estate or maybe a larger hatchback, a good roof rack helps. The photo shows a 32 ft boat for which it is a little undersized, though I have used it a number of... Read more ..read more

A UK registered and owned boat is Union Goods if it was EU VAT paid and in the EU at the end of the Transition period. The VAT invoice is from a UK company, VAT paid to HMRC, pre BREXIT and the Bill of Sale is dated pre BREXIT. After a number of transactions the boat is sold to a new owner, an EU citizen. At some point the registration is charged to an EU country. The Bill of Sale is dated post BREXIT showing a sale transacted, in good faith, in the EU bwteen EU residents. Does the new... Anybody familiar with Montenegro/Albania coast?

I'm currently in Bar, Montenegro heading south towards Corfu. The advertised fuel station in the marina is closed and there's no tanker service. I have more than enough fuel to get to Durres where I planned to check-in to Albania but they've no fuel station there and getting tanker delivery sounds complicated and expensive - apparently you have to pay for the fire brigade to be on standby during fueling plus they charge for the tanker. So my question. Does anyone know other ports south of... Read more ..read more
