Hello Everyone,
We are currently engaged in an Azure project, where our client wishes to host a graphics-intensive application. Our setup includes a host pool, and we're exploring options to shut down the Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) hosts when not in use, as a cost-saving measure. Ideally, when users access the application via Microsoft Remote Desktop, it should automatically start the server, allowing them to log in. It's important to note that users will only be accessing a specific application, not the full server.
While I'm aware of the Azure Scaling Plan, it seems to predominantly opera ..read more

Hi Experts,
We are looking to roll out Yammer/Viva Engage to all users but are wanting to test it all first for 3 or 4 users so I want to remove Yammer from all users so they don't start getting notifications whilst we're testing.
I've found the below code to do this for one user at a time but i've got about 200 users to do this to so want to do it all in one go, how can I amend this to change for all users please?
Powershell

Good day all,
I have a number of mailboxes which are licensed for Exchange Online. I have users delegates for full access to these mailboxes. The question I have is this:
Can the user manage the sharing and permissions of these mailboxes from an Outlook client? At the moment the delegated mailbox shows under "Shared with me" and seems it is added as a separate account (as was previously the case in Outlook). If it were at the root level I would have to share a password with that user and have them add the account as a complete standalone account but that seems to go against the delegation proc ..read more

Our organization is currently piloting SharePoint in advance of a full migration to the Office 365 environment in 2024.
It seems like I am missing something elementary here, but I have performed a thorough amount of research and can find no documentation for adjusting users' ability to delete content that they accidentally uploaded to OneDrive. Searching the archives of this forum, it appears that this has been an issue since early in the days of OneDrive.
If these permissions cannot be adjusted by a global administrator in the SharePoint Site Settings, is there a way to search and purge files ..read more

We have a 110 user Azure AVD system implemented and maintained by a well accredited UK company. Since day one, we noticed some users were having odd graphical glitches on screen whilst in AVD. Initially the users (2-3) were all using desktops so I duly investigated, tried laptops for a while as a test reported ok over time when back to their desktops.
Moved on to other issues as you do, thought nothing of it but over the last month it reared its head with more users noticing and report on laptops only.
There is no pattern, happens on dual screen desktop PC's, laptops with dual screen Dell dock ..read more

Ok this might be a long-shot but I'd be very grateful for some help.
We have a software package called Sage 50 Accounts that has a "Send to Excel" feature, whereby you click a button and it sends the on-screen data into Excel. From what I have been able to find out, this process talks to the Office API via COM.
It doesn't create an Excel file and then open it; but rather it extracts the data, opens Excel and you get a copy of the data in a new Excel file (Book1 - as if you'd clicked on File > New).
Anyway the issue I've got is that we have three RDS Session Hosts and the send to Excel funct ..read more

I have done this before for our larger charity but I have offered to do a migration for a much smaller one. Currently they have five users each with their own PC's. They are currently using the Microsoft family 365 which they probably shouldn't be and their shared folder with all their work files (Word excel etc) is in one of their OneDrive accounts and they all have access to it synced to their desktops. Its not ideal but it kind of works. Emails at the moment they just use individual Gmail accounts but they want to start using Outlook and their official website domain address.

Hello Spiceheads,
After attempting to sync our local AD with AAD, I've came to realise that there is absolutely nothing happening. So, let me explain. Going to the AAD Admin Portal and going to AAD Connect (yes I'm aware it's called Entra ID now) says that the cloud sync configuration is up and healthy. Right. I go into the configuration and I have a scoping filter set for a group in our local Active Directory. This is where I think I've messed up, as I might have mistaken the use of scoping filters but I'm going to have to wait for the next sync to find out.
I've taken the route of using both ..read more
