HEMET (CBSLA) — Hemet Police Department officers Friday took four suspects into custody who were wanted in connection with a crime that saw a 15-year-old pushed in front of moving traffic on Feb. 28. HEMET (CBSLA) – A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was shoved into traffic and struck by a car in Hemet late Monday afternoon. The incident occurred just before 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Stetson Avenue and Seven Hills Drive. According to Hemet police, the victim was skateboarding when he was met by a group of youth at the intersection. HEMET (CBSLA) – A magnitude-3.5 earthquake struck the Hemet area late Wednesday night. Aug. 4, 2021. (USGS) The earthquake occurred at 11:51 p.m. about 0.8 miles northwest of the Hemet city center, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter was recorded at Oakland and Hamilton avenues. The quake occurred at a depth of about 11 miles. There were no reports of damage or injury. HEMET (CBSLA) — Firefighters on Monday were tackling a brush fire in the Hemet area of Riverside County. The fire broke out near California Avenue and Lynn Avenue. Several power lines were damaged due to the fire and thousands of customers from Southern California were out of power temporarily, officials said. HEMET (CBSLA) — A woman was killed and four others shot during a large brawl involving as many as eight people in Hemet, police said Wednesday. Fighting in the 1200 block of Valencia Avenue was reported just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to Hemet police.
