I have taken TOEFL again and again in order to get a higher score. Hi all, I just took the GRE today. My scores could be better but not terrible. Verbal - 161, Quant - 153. I want to enroll in an environmental sociology PhD program in fall 2022. My top choices are NC State, UF, Stony Brook, and Rutgers. I studied for 3 months and my math is still pretty low. I was wondering if it is worth retaking in September? I've put together a list of biology grad programs in the U.S. that tells you which ones do or do not require the GRE. At this point 73% of programs do NOT require the GRE, and another 10% didn't require it for fall 2021 admission due to COVID and haven't announced yet whether they'll require it for 2022. So the trend of grad programs dropping the GRE requirement has reached the point where you may not need to take the stupid GRE. Hey all, I'm filling out an application through LSAC and it's asking first whether I've taken the ACT/SAT (of course I have since I've been to undergrad) or the GRE/GMAT, etc. I took the GRE because my parents forced me to, I didn't study AT ALL for it.
