‘When The Neighbours Fight’ - Little Elm.

Introducing Little Elm, an alternative pop band based in Berlin, set to win hearts with their charming debut, ‘Neighbours’. Mixed and mastered by Zé Victor Torelli (Black Eyed Peas), it is the first single released from the upcoming EP (2021), showcasing soulful vocals and ‘synthesiser wizardry’.  The song opens with clean electric guitars, and I am intrigued to see where they are going with the two chord motif. This could have dragged on, however, I am pleasantly surprised by how effective it is once the vocals come in with the bass and drums. A nod to its cover art, with the notion of ..read more

‘I love red wine, is that such a crime?’ - Free Keziah
Somebody Save Music

‘Entry of the Gladiators’, now an ode to red wine; We are invited to the scene of the ‘Cabernet Circus’, enticed by Free Keziah (the solo project of Kizzy Rowbotham, 22) and the exploration of euphoria in her most recent single.  It certainly holds to be very promising to say the least; Rowbotham develops her signature sound - a jazz, blues and swing hybrid - with the twist of a stylised circus sound. The song holds up against previous single, ‘Buskers Blues’, whilst a vast improvement from her earlier releases due to its creativity alone. She teases us in gently with rich vocals. My Autism and Music.
Somebody Save Music

Hi, I’m Ella and I’m a 21 year-old singer-songwriter who has Aspergers syndrome; In this entry I shall open up a bit on what being a musician on the spectrum is like. Autism presents slightly differently in each person but this is my insight on it regarding my music. Creative Process I see my craft as a vehicle of communication rather than a form of entertainment; I have trouble grasping what emotions I’m feeling, but when I compose (regardless if there’s words or not), I get this wave of clarity and can somehow make sense of my situation. The writing process is actually quite interesti ..read more

Somebody Save Music
by Ella Hardy

London born and bred singer-songwriter Poppy Holmes hit the ground running when she released her debut single ‘Mielle’ on May 20th. Having been studying in Manchester for the past year, Poppy has worked tirelessly to gain a well respected status in the gigging scene. First off her lyrical phrasing needless to say is refreshing and packed with descriptive imagery, laying out a bold narrative. Initially, there were a few lyrics that I gravitated towards, my favourite one being “we only see each other when we’ve both been drinking”. Poppy touches on themes that can be considered quite delicate y ..read more
