"Do you love me more than THESE?" (a look at John 21:15)

“Do you love me…more than THESE?” John 21: 15 I’d like to continue with this midrash, but just to concentrate on Yeshua’s statement; “Do you love me more than these?” We understand that the “sheep” and the “lambs” are symbolic of older and younger believers, not so much physical age-wise but in spiritual maturity. Those that are young in the faith need just as much guidance as the older and more mature believers, guided by rabbis, pastors, Torah teachers, Sunday School teachers, etc… But what do we think about the beginning of the conversation that Yeshua had with Simon Peter? “ Shimon B ..read more

Where are we going?

John 12:35-36 35 Then Jesus said to them, "A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. 36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light." These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them. NKJV I was reading this morning and asking the Lord about what He meant here. If I am walking in darkness, I certainly want to know about it! Then the Lord opened my eyes and let me see that many, many, many unbelievers have no idea where t ..read more

Worse Than An Unbeliever? Understanding 1 Timothy 5:8
BibleForums

1 Timothy 5:8 - Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8 is another commonly misinterpreted scripture. Oftentimes, this scripture is taken out of context and used to encourage Christians to seek after worldly employment instead of seeking the Holy Spirit, preaching the gospel and receiving God’s provision. Provision is not just limited to money. It means whatever assistance is needed, whether physical, emotional, financial, etc. This would also include helping to pay a famil ..read more

MALAYSIA: Christian fear grows despite court ruling.

MALAYSIA: Christian fears grow despite court ruling Christians in Malaysia have expressed deep concern at what they see as growing intolerance against believers despite a recent court decision in their favour. We thank God that last month the Malaysian Court of Appeals judge, Nor Bee, ruled that a 1986 directive by the Home Ministry to restrict Christians from using four ‘prohibited’ words including ‘Allah’ was not a blanket ban. This was restricting Christian recordings, worship and teaching. However, this development has to be seen in a wider context, say our partners. In 2017 Past ..read more

Breaking Down Luke 22:36

Luke 22:36 - He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. At first glance of Luke 22:36, it is easy to assume that Jesus is telling us to equip ourselves with different things such as money and a sword, before going out to preach the gospel. However, in this scripture, Jesus is referring to items such as a bag, money belt/purse, sword, and cloak, as spiritual items. Jesus did not condone physical violence of any kind and so there is a deeper meaning behind his instructions. Let’s take a closer look at ..read more

DiscussionDoes God Understand Eros (Romantic) Love?

Let me explain further: I'm sure God understands it, for He created it, but what about this: During a recent breakup I had, my dad was trying to comfort me. He told me that Jesus knows what I'm going through because he was a Man like me before. I know and I believe He came down to earth and eventually died and rose for us, and I understand most of which He went through. He was beat, and He was killed. I'm sure He went through other pain as well, but has He gone through the pain of losing someone who you loved romantically? I am confused by that because Jesus wasn't married, or in a romantic ..read more

Warning: This may contain graphic or sensitive material for some readers. Hello, I am wondering on what are your guys and gals thoughts on the LGBTQ+ Community. A bit of an intro here: I am a 17 year old male who is straight. I've bumped into people here and there who are part of the LGBTQ+ Community. I've watched some shows and movies that portrayed LGBTQ+ people. In all honesty, I am not much bugged by it. My family is Christian, and I was raised that way and came to trust in God from a very young age. I've been homeschooled my entire life and was in a Christian homeschool academy until a ..read more
