In this episode, we speak to Ajla, a former refugee who fled the war in Bosnia as a child with her family in the early 1990s. After living in a refugee camp in Croatia, she and her family resettled in the United States to begin a new life. Throughout her childhood, Ajla grew up with a deep appreciation of the sacrifices her family made to give her a better life. In this episode, we speak to Karam, who lives in France and is originally from Darfur, a region in western Sudan where conflict has displaced over 2.8 million people since 2003. Inspired by his own experience, Karam started his own organization to help other refugees integrate into French society.
