NEWARK, N.J. -- New Jersey Devils coach Lindy Ruff signed a multiyear contract Wednesday.
Ruff, who was hired July 9, 2020, will enter his fourth season.
His four-year contract, which included an option for 2023-24, was set to expire at the end of this season.

Forward Jesper Bratt has signed an eight-year, $63 million contract extension with the New Jersey Devils ahead of restricted free agency this summer, the team announced Thursday.
The contract has an average annual value of $7.875 million against the salary cap, the third-highest on the Devils behind defenseman Dougie Hamilton ($9 million) and center Jack Hughes ($8 million).

The New Jersey Devils signed goaltender Tyler Brennan to a three-year, entry-level contract on Sunday.
Brennan, 19, was drafted 102nd overall by the Devils in the 2022 NHL Draft last June.
The 6-foot-4 goaltender played with the WHL's Prince George Cougars last season where he had a 21-10-3 record with a .898 save percentage and 2.86 goals-against average

Devils secure star forward Timo Meier in trade with Sharks

The New Jersey Devils acquired star forward Timo Meier from the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night in a complicated deal that includes a mix of players, prospects and draft picks going both ways.

I have to be honest, I am SHOCKED by how well the Devils have played. They had a shaky lapse there but they snapped out and then some. . Ruff has proved what a good coach he is once again. I mean, this team is not loaded with talent yet they are winning including a 7-1 rout of the underachieving Blue Jackets. I really have no clue how good they are?
