Hi All,
I have done hours of searching of images and seen what others have done, I'm hoping for feedback on my plan (see photo). My goal is to achieve a level 9'x12' platform for my golf simulator.
i have a 20x20 garage, half of which is a golf simulator. I am planning to run 2x4x12 sleepers every 12" over the 9 foot wide area- is this overkill? Stability where I stand is most important (hitting mat). I will use some type of hardboard/osb over the sleepers, then foam board...

Hi there everyone,
I am new to this forum, so I thank you all in advance for taking the time and consideration to help me out.
I am currently looking at expanding my dealership into a warehouse space, it is perfect other than one big issue- there is no way for me to get my vehicles into the warehouse.
There is only a dock (48” high) and all I have is about 25ft to work with in length before the property line ends and will be on the street.
I initially thought I could get away with...

We recently moved from IL to SC. The home we purchased is 18 years old with a concrete driveway. Apparently down here pressure washing mold/crud off the driveway is commonly done. All the years of this have removed the top layer, slurry, and exposed the stone. What can I do to protect the drive from further deterioration? Thanks ..read more

We are wanting to install a 6k 2 post lift in one of our shops for personal use. We really dont want to cut and repour and are considering bolting 3/8" plates down then bolting the lift to those. Each pad will be 21" larger front to back than the post pad and 3" wider one the sides. Basically the post pad is 18x18 and we are getting two plates 60x24x3/8" We will bolt the ends of the plates down one the ends then bolt the post to the concrete through the pads. Probably will go ahead and weld...

Hi everyone,
Well, after a large tree took out my barn this past fall I thought the hard part would be rebuilding. But it turned out to be a bunch of arguments with the insurance company. Glad that is finally over with…
Anyway, my 60X40 design is done and I have received the requisite height and area variances from my Town offices. In the next couple months I will be breaking ground and I couldn’t be more excited. The front half is a two stall garage and the back half is an RC Airplane...

I’m building a garage with a two post lift. Situation: Picked out a lift, sent the requirements to the GC.
Dug extra depth, 12” or more for the location of the post.
Concrete people put a expansion seam RIGHT over the middle of the footers.
I cannot move the lift forward or backward to meet the 8” clearance minimum because I have piping for radiant flooring.
I only plan to use this as a hobby lift. Will barely ever have more than 6K pounds on it.
Why I don’t want to dig up the...

I am building a barndominum and I have the second story for storage and my shop office. When the framers did the rough in, they glued down tongue and groove 3/4" decking. There are a few spots where the gaps look excessive to me. I am worried that if I use VCT tile, they will eventually crack there. The reason we are considering VCT is this is a high traffic, greasy shoe area.
What is the norm? Do I need to put down a thin hardwood laminate covering the decking, prior to tiling to ensure...

Looking at a job later in the week and the customer asked me about floor repairs, sanding, stain and poly.
They have a section (living room and dining area) that was white wash stained. The flooring continues thru out the house some areas covered by carpeting.
Is there a treatment or can I sand this area and stain to match?
Would like to match stain to the areas that are covered and uncovered.
Is this possible or need to remove/replace this area?
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks ahead of time ..read more

Looking for recommendations, reviews, advice and discounts.
Auto shop at home. Lots of various chemicals with moderate fabrication. Virgin slab poured 60 days ago so fully cured.
Metal building 40x40 spray foamed. Attached 20x40 carport.
I've had sealed concrete, smooth epoxy, and heavily textured epoxy shops before. Not a fan of smooth epoxy due to major slip hazard. Sealed took a lot of damage and staining over time but no slipping. Textured epoxy was already damaged and I certainly...

As a DIYer about to install new LVP flooring, I'd like to find a slow setting self leveling compound that is widely available, preferably at home improvement stores, if possible. I want some time to work with it before it starts setting up.
Some people in other threads have recommended Maipai Self Leveler Plus from Lowes, but its spec sheet says it is flowable for only 10-15 minutes. I've also found Tec EZ Level from Menards, which states its workable time is longer at 15-20 minutes. But is...
