Has anyone generated larger prints on canvas? Should size of subject represent real life? What should edge spacing be? Is there a standard or formula for making bigger prints of birds.? Any help would be appreciated. I know it’s a strange subject. But, a bad decision can get costly. Thanks in advance ..read more

Recommendations for Zambia?

I have an opportunity to travel to Lusaka in mid-June with my wife. We would like to visit Victoria Falls, but will have 4-6 days for some wildlife photography. I’m looking at Kafue… does anyone have experience there? Particular camps? Is it fly-in only or is driving there a reasonable option for a couple well-acquainted with challenging road conditions (not Dakar-level )? Any other suggestions are welcome ..read more

Busy at the Bald Eagle Nest Sunday morning near Hannibal, MO and the Mississippi River. Two deliveries of nest material by adults, eaglet trying do nest maintenance, eaglet jumping, flapping wings, maybe a couple Titanic poses by eaglet into the wind, and a great view of one of the adult Bald Eagles on a tree very near the nest in the windy conditions at end of video. 4k version at YouTube ..read more

Disheveled chipping sparrow fledgling ...

I was sitting in my yard, and this little guy flew (a bit unsteadily) out of a bush. He was very small and looked funny. So I grabbed a couple of pictures. You can only see EXIF info for this image if you are logged in. The above was my favorite pose. The tufts on each side of the head ... the grumpy grandpa pose. You can only see EXIF info for this image if you are logged in. I'm pretty sure this is a just fledged chipping sparrow, though not 100% certain. Either way, cute and sorta unusual ..read more

Wildlife in Quebec

Next August I will be visiting the city of Montreal for two weeks due to work reasons. Unfortunately, flying to the Rockies will be not possible (I was there some years ago and was a fantastic experience with the wildlife there). As I will be visiting also the city of Quebec, I wonder if there is some particular place to visit (not a Zoo!) or stay a couple of days where one find good opportunities to photograph wildlife. Anyone here knows anything about wildlife in the province of Quebec... Read more ..read more
