Sharks fire coach David Quinn after historic last-place season

The San Jose Sharks have fired David Quinn after a season that saw San Jose finish with the second-fewest points in the salary cap era.
Quinn's firing after two seasons Wednesday came less than a week after the Sharks (19-54-9) lost three straight games and five of their last six and ended the regular season with the worst record in the NHL.

San Jose Sharks Sign Forward Quentin Musty
San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Mike Grier announced today that the club has signed forward Quentin Musty to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Musty, 18, served as an alternate captain and tallied 78 points (26 goals, 52 assists) for the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League in the 2022-23 season, the second-best scoring total on the team. His 52 assists were the most on the squad and most among OHL U-18 forwards.

Worst stat of the season is they only won 8 games at home all year. Not only was that dead last by a large amount, but 29 other teams won at least double at home what the Sharks did. eleven teams won at least triple the home games as the Sharks.

WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- San Jose Sharks defenseman Erik Karlsson became the first NHL defenseman to reach 100 points in a season since Brian Leetch in 1991-92 on Monday night.
Karlsson entered the Sharks' 6-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets with 98 points across his first 79 games. He tallied the Sharks' two goals for San Jose, the first 20 seconds into the game and the second 3:42 into the third period, to hit the milestone.
