Hello,
I wish to permanently disable specific network interface in Ubuntu 20.04, but could not find a way to do it.
I tried the following two methods, plus server reboot and it did not help:
1. Added "iface eth0 inet manual" to /etc/network/interfaces
2. Added "optional: true" to "network: > ethernets: > %interface-id%" at a yaml file at /etc/netplan/
I read there is a 3rd way of disabling network driver, but I don't wish to go that deep.
Any ideas?
(BTW, why this site doesn't have a...

So we are moving from CentOS to CloudLinux for our server and for a decade and a half we have always run our server at our local timezone (Chicago). I am aware this is (was?) not the best practice due to possible DST issues, etc. On the new server I want to finally switch this so the server is set to UTC but I'm looking at the cpanel installed cron jobs for the root user and it appears that they are all configured to run at specific times which appear to assume the system time is local and...

So, it's almost time to pull the trigger and get "elevated".
Am wondering about other cPanel users' experiences with Alma vs Rocky.
Both distros are new, around the same age (March vs June 21 for initial release), and both claim to be 1:1 as far as a RHEL replacement goes.
Has anyone seen a reason *not* to use one as opposed to the other?
Am thinking if it's mostly apples to oranges, will go with Rocky. The only downside I see - and it's a tiny one - is that as opposed to Alma, Rorky...

Hy there!
I'm trying to get multiple FailOver IPs working on this cPanel (CloudLinux 7) VM. It runs on top of Proxmox on a dedicated server with OVH.
Ideally I would use one Macvtap device and have all of the five IPs we need served from a single public interface. However, until I figure out how to set it up from Proxmox, I'm trying to use multiple interfaces as a workaround. This VM will be put into production later today.
Code:
$ cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1...

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
I have managed to ban the Tor network through my configserver blocklist.
I have not managed to block bots from amazon I'm getting flooded from this bot ec2-47-128-54-64.ap-southeast-1.compute.amazonaws.com
Is there any script I can use in my configserver blocklist to block them once and for all.
Many thanks
