Different subfloor in one room

I'm having an extension and the existing space has a concrete screed finished floor. The extension area has been speecified to have the same, however to get round the lengthy screed drying times the builder has said it might be an option to lay a dpm and then joist and board over for the extension part. The whole lot is on a block and beam base. This would mean we could lay our engineered oak floor sooner (glue down method I think) but I'm not sure if it is a good idea to have two different... Amtico Sign. Small Parquet with border - 1st time

Hi, following on from a big screed pour of 90m2 at 15mm over ufh, I’m looking to set up and order our Amtico, in small parquet. Think it would look great with a 1 tile border as we’ve seen it in a local showroom. I’ve done a few small jobs laying large planks straight with PS but never done small parquet or a border with wet lay HT - planning f48+ I’m not pushed for time so doesn’t really matter how long it takes, but just wondering if adding the border and stripping makes the job that... Carpet Measurements and Amount to Purchase
The Flooring Forum

Hi, I need to get my carpets replaced due to moth damage and was wondering if 7.2m x 4m would be enough to cover the areas. I'll attach a copy of the floor plan, as well as the measurements and how I envisage the carpet pieces being laid out. I will hire a carpet fitter to do the work, but wanted to double check what would work before I potentially get overcharged given the carpet is £50 per sq m. The measurements also include about 1.5cm of skirting on each side. Thanks ..read more

Screeding over UFH insulation boards...?

Hi all, Apologies in advance if this is not posted to the right forum...wonder if anyone has any ideas for this situation, we have recently put in an underfloor heating system using 20mm EPS 400 insulation boards stuck onto concrete subfloor, with a 4mm thermal underlay and 8mm vinyl floor floated on top. We went for this option mainly as ceiling height is limited and we wanted to keep the loss of headroom to a minimum. Job is now complete but unfortunately there are a few uneven spots...
