I believe it will take a lot of time. More than a decade. Maybe after I’m gone in 25/30 years- but the farthest away viable city pairs in the world will be connected nonstop. It’s gotta happen one day! (Hopefully before sub orbital travel) If there are economy seats, pray to God they will be better than what’s installed today! Could there ever be a 777-8SP? Shorter, same wing and engine, same for the A350? Statistics: Posted by VC10er — Sun May 05, 2024 2:55 am ..read more

QF planned BNE-ORD. It’s amazing to think the B789 was about to link the US Midwest with Australia. It will be interesting to see if this route ever resurfaces. SIN and PER are high on the IAH nonstop list. Nonstop PEK-GRU is begging to happen also. I once made a thread about other airlines having similar ambitions to QFs Project Sunrise, I think it's a matter of time. I also think the next generation of wide-bodies will make antipodal trips obtainable in select markets with some modifications similar to today's PS A35J, and the next generation after that will make it totally economical for airlines that actually have a place for it in their business model. Clearly Qantas and Singapore knew in advance that those Ulta, Ultra Long Hauls would very likely work. Do those flights portend a future where many other super long nonstops become more feasible? Having both the pax to fill them and aircraft that can fly them. What are some city pairs do people think could be sustained with daily departures? One potential route I have wondered about is São Paul ..read more

funny thing is that it IS available for the return leg/ And its the same aircraft that goes out and back. On the outbound you see the 2-3-2 config all up to just behind Delta One. For the return , you see the section with the 2-2-2 config. Statistics: Posted by stewartg — Sat May 04, 2024 6:07 pm ..read more

Luckily KLM still offers the Holland Herald onboard. I enjoyed reading one on a flight from Norway to Amsterdam yesterday. Statistics: Posted by MartijnNL — Sat May 04, 2024 4:50 pm ..read more
