Crooked Teeth

Ok, I’d love some insight into this from anyone who has been in this boat before. I’ve always absolutely hated my teeth. I was beaten quite badly as a kid which meant my adult teeth came in all over the place and I’ve had some nightmare dentists in the past especially as a child. The long and the short of it is I’d love to smile. Properly smile - showing teeth and not being self conscious. However, I really don’t want to get braces. I’ll admit I am looking for a quick fix here (by quick I mean I don’t want to endure 2 years of braces) and I realise it’s not the “done thing” and nothing beats o ..read more

Hi All, My partner of 5 years has AWFUL teeth. When I met him first he had a beautiful smile but over the years and due to a huge phobia of all things dental, his teeth are now just terrible. The front is are covered in plaque, the back I can only assume are worse. They are yellow and in some places brown. He has been to the dentist in the past (before my time) but said he had to have his father (the only person he would allow go with him) physically restrain him. His father unfortunately has since passed. His dental hygiene has slipped, he never flosses because there is not a floss in the lan ..read more

Turkey Teeth?

Hi all. I've been contemplating for quite some time about going to Turkey to have my awful teeth extracted and getting all on 6 implants. I've been on antidepressants for a number of years and didn't realise that they were the cause of dry mouth. I know it also comes down to good oral hygiene but at the height of my anxiety and depression, I wasn't looking after myself never mind my teeth. I could only think of ways of ending it all and 5 years ago I came very close to it. I won't get into all that but the one thing that always got me down are my teeth. Looking through Facebook, every photo I ..read more

Pain after root canal treatment

Hi folks, Just a quick question: A few days ago I underwent root canal treatment. The thing is, a few days later, I'm experiencing a dull and aching pain around the treated area. I'm popping the Neurofen plus in order to keep the pain away. In fairness, the pain pretty much vanishes after a couple of painkillers. I'm just wondering is such pain normal after root canal treatment? TIA! DUTCHY ..read more

Endodontist Root Canal

I have to have a Root Canal procedure on a molar tooth. My dentist said he would refer me to an Endodontist who would be in touch. They have just quoted €1,175. It will be performed in one visit, under local anaesthetic. It much more than I thought. I was expecting €600-800 but this seems a lot. Any views on the quote? Going to Budapest would make sense at these prices. I lived in Switzerland for a while and the Swiss go there for major work due to sky high prices there. I had emergency treatment on it so done if the work is already done (temp filling in place and infection treated ..read more

Hi all, I’m unhappy with my teeth. Some have become crooked and I want my teeth whitened. At the minute a lot of people are going abroad, mainly Turkey to get work done but I would prefer to get it done in Dublin. Anyone have any recommendations? Feel free to PM if posting recommendations is against the rules. Thanks ..read more

Crack extending down front tooth

Teenage son messing in school managed to crack his tooth which extends down through one of his front teeth but luckily no part has broken off/missing. No sensitivity to hot or cold. Went to school dentist who did an X-ray and said all is fine & there’s nothing that can be done until or if it ever breaks and then go about getting something done with it. Is there any kind of sealant or treatment that is out there that could prevent it getting any worse and breaking in the future ..read more
