The art is workmanlike at best, even the Mort Meskin story, and the text is long-winded. Yet the comic crackles with lurid vitality nonetheless. Even the ads are fun.

I was lucky enough to see the Jim Hutton/Ellery Queen series when it ran in the 70’s. It deserved a bigger audience than it got. Sort of like Wayne Rodger’s CITY OF ANGELS that only lasted a season. Maybe both were too good for TV at the time. I th ..read more
