Is Goku a superhero?

rest in peace to Akira Toriyama, the legend, the genius, the artist who has left his mark on this earth forever. I think the last time this question came up in conversation, it was disputed. it seems like the term "superhero" is synonymous with "comic book" so and since Goku is not from an American comic book, he isn't classified as a superhero. But he is from a manga; couldn't mangas be seen as a type of comic book? if that's even the argument to be made. but my opinion is yes... Read more ..read more

So this just came out and I wanted to know other peoples opinions, I was slightly disappointed because I thought it was a new series that would start before the Goliath Cronicles but it just seemed to be a carbon copy of the first GC episode. I haven't seeen that episode in awhile so I may be wrong but I'm just saying ..read more

Tarzan and Conan managed long runs. After those two examples, oddly Hopalong Cassidy and perhaps less oddly the Shadow seem next. I would hesitate to mention Sir Dennis Nayland Smith, despite his supporting role in the 1970's ..read more

I recently visited São Paulo, Brazil and got a brief look at comic culture in a different continent. You can see some clips in my December video below (starting at 4:24). I didn't see many single issue comics, the only one I noticed was the Batman/Fortnite Foundation series. Everything else was more like graphic novels, but they are available everywhere. Kids can get comics at newsstands just outside their apartments. Not just the odd issue or two, often a big selection of comics.... Comic Books Around the World ..read more

Are American Comics Dying?

I've seen quite a few articles and videos discussing declining sales of American Comics (I guess mainly centering around the big two, Marvel & DC.) . I've seen videos of people showing the top 20 Comic Book sales for last month, and it was all manga. Usually Batman or Spiderman is in there, but alas... not to be seen. If the sales are bad, what do you think Marvel & DC need to do? Because people seem to still be interested in the medium of comics, as manga & anime are super popular. I...
