12 years ago I bought a Faema grinder and E98 for $275. The grinder was added to my kit the next day.... but the E98 had a leaking solenoid and saw minimal use as a result. Four years ish ago I cleaned it up and swapped the solenoid/valve with the auto frother one and set it up with the intention of selling it eventually (little did I know). I moved it into the kitchen despite its size and weight and decided to try it as my go to. Within days my Rancilio Silvia was banished to storage. What a great machine!! No way I am selling it
As Artman has pointed out it runs hot... very hot, but with dr ..read more

Bought in 2019 from Coffee-A-Roma. Used sparingly for milk drinks and cleaned often. Burrs are sharp with plenty of life. Grinder is in excellent condition, save for some light scratches on the spout, coffee stains under the wooden platform, and a tiny paint chip on the brand badge. Comes with the original dosing cup and brush, two Decent portafilter stands (one for spouted, one for bottomless) that can be screwed into the base so you can grind directly into your basket, and a short 58mm dosing ring that will work with both the tall and short stands.

Selling a Eureka Atom 60
Roughly 27kg of coffee has been through this, the body is in near new condition with no scratches or marks, however the hopper has damage on the rear corners due to being dropped. It is not noticeable when lid is on and does not affect functionality. I do have a brand new large hopper from a Atom 75 if you wanted that instead.
The item is located in Boronia 3155, however can ship at buyers expense. Feel free to DM me any questions ..read more

I'm just reading Jonathan Gagnes book on the science of filter coffee. Most of its well above my pay grade in terms of formulas and convoluted research but nevertheless it's a very interesting read.
In one part he mentions a fingerprint test as a rudimentary way of quickly checking Burr alignment.
"One method I like to use too quickly assess the alignment in an approximate manner is to grind as fine as I can and then verify whether the resulting coffee powder can hold my fingerprint"
Is anyone familiar with this and if so can you comment on what to look for or how effective it is ..read more

Hi all,
I'm in the market for buying a espresso machine and was thinking about buying the Breville Bambino, but after viewing in store found that the portafilter was really tough to lock in.
Is this a continuous problem or does it get better overtime?
Does buying a fancier portafilter help?
Thanks in advance ..read more

Gday,
I have a Sunbeam EM0440 that i have had for a few years and i am in dire need of recommendations for a replacement. I used to be a majority filter guy that i use a Timemore C2 for, but due to new bubs arrival i have moved to back to the Bambino Plus purely for convenience.
Ideally i would like a grinder that is great for espresso and filter so have been contemplating either the Varia VS3 (unsure due to reported motor/gearbox issues), the DF64 v2 (on sale) or maybe the Bratza Encore ESP (noisy?). I would love some feedback and anyway of a comparison so i can get some clarity.

Hi all, I have a problem with my ECM Casa IV and hoping you may be able to help me troubleshoot. 1. There is no water coming out from brew head. 2. Brew head filter is clean 3. Pressure builds up as normal. 4. Water comes out from the steam arm. 5. The pump obviously working. My only thought is a blocked gallery in the boiler, near the brew head... Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers ..read more
