OSHA Standard Addressing Male-to-Male Extension Cords
EE Power Forums

I've been reading through OSHA's standards about electrical safety, trying to find the specific section that addresses the use of male-to-male extension cords, aka "widow-maker cables". I thought that maybe 11910.305(a)(2)(vii) "No bare conductors nor earth returns may be used for the wiring of any temporary circuit.", but I'm not sure if I'm interpreting that correctly. I've also been reading through 1910.334, 1926.404, and a couple other standards, but I haven't seen anything that was... OSHA Standard Addressing Male-to-Male Extension Cords ..read more

Selling overstock. Ideas?

Hello all. I hope I am on the right place. Apologies in advance if I am not. My company (electronic products) is moving shop from Germany to Asia. We have some extra inventory and the powers that be endowed me with the task of selling it (at a discount, naturally). I started contacting distributors but I also thought it might be a good idea to also post this on the forum in case someone or a company might be interested. Happy to share any details to interested parties. Thanks for reading... Selling overstock. Ideas ..read more

Hey guys! I have been leading a project to develop a Silicon-Sulfur battery for a few years, but, due to the fact that I live in Brazil, I do not have access to factories to license the production of the battery. Does anyone happen to know or have contact with a factory that can carry out this production using my proprietary and customized chemistry ..read more

Layman question regarding graphite and it's role in batteries
EE Power Forums
by Mobius1NI

I understand that graphite is commonly used in batteries but what I'm not too sure about is the role of the layers in graphite in this regard. So a graphite flake could be 200 nanometres in height and composed of dozens of layers of hexagonally structured 2d carbon plates, alternatively it could also be 2.88 nanometres in height and composed of just 5 layers. Flakes with a height of 2.88 nanometres should be dramatically less electrically resistant yet more thermally conductive. However... Load Test for CR2032 Lithium Batteries

Hello, I've used load testers on car 12 V batteries before. An issue has come up at work where we'll be using CR 2032 batteries in device we issues for voting in school classes. One boss has asked if we can or should put some kind of load test on the 'new' CR20232 batteries. This would be in addition to using a voltage meter to verify the voltage. This seems like a solution in search of a problem, but he is the boss, so I'm asking if it could be done and is there a piece if equipment I... Load Test for CR2032 Lithium Batteries ..read more
