The True Key to Peace and Contentment

When someone has even the tiniest bit of faith, they thereby have the foundation on which a relationship with Jesus can be built. As the relationship grows, so does the trust in God through Jesus Christ, and with it, peace, contentment and joy. Fear and anxiety begin to slip away. This is a fundamental truth that is widely ignored in today’s society. Naysayers and the secular crowd love to bash organized religion and point out all of its missteps and wrongdoings, falsely equating the religion with those who are not following its precepts. Not only are they cherry-picking to further their misgu ..read more

Where is God in All of This?

Around 75% of Americans feel that our country is going down the wrong path, although there is disagreement as to why that is so.  Divisions politically haven’t been this deep in generations.  Violence and lawlessness seem to be growing and out of control, and empathy and respect for life are in short supply.  Many people wonder where is God in all of this.  Why does He allow this?  Others boldly proclaim that there is no God and that the sorry state of things proves their point. But do we cry out to God for his help and providence?  Do we dare to present our probl ..read more

Want to End the Gun Violence?  Then Turn to God & Respect Life!

The recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas has once again plunged the country into deep mourning and sadness, stoking the flames of anger in this all-too-well-known scenario.  Yet each time such a tragic event occurs, frustration and division heighten, and no real solutions are implemented.  Hours after the events in Texas unfolded, we were already knee-deep in finger pointing and in assigning blame. Our increasingly dependent culture looks to big government to intervene and solve the problem, but it did not create it (at least not directly), and it cannot solve it.  The best t ..read more

Our Problem is That We Don’t Have Faith
LostFlock.com

Faith is a word that is very familiar to Christians and is used in all sorts of ways and phrases. We practice our faith at church and in our lives. We know that Faith, Hope and Love remain. We even say, “Faith can move mountains” as an expression without really thinking about what we are saying. Most of us would argue that we have faith and that is why we are Christian. We also may admit that faith is something that wavers and is something that we need to work on, maybe in a similar fashion as to how we work on losing weight or “being better people”. But faith is so much more than that. It is ..read more

Supreme Court Hears Mississippi Abortion Case
LostFlock.com

This morning, the US Supreme Court is hearing arguments in the “Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization” case in Mississippi. This has been widely seen as the most significant case to challenge Roe vs. Wade in decades. Pray today for God’s hand in touching the hearts of the Supreme Court justices, and for God to provide the wisdom to the pro-life lawyers making their case. Even if Roe vs. Wade is overturned, this would not outlaw abortion nationwide. It would instead place the decisions in the hands of the states. Therefore, places like California would most likely continue as they are, b ..read more

Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise like a trap. For that day will assault everyone who lives on the face of the earth. Luke 21:34-35 No matter who we are, we cannot stop the hands of time – there will come a day when our health and strength fails us, and we will pass from this life. While there is something to be said for living in the moment and not obsessing with our own demise, we should also take time to make sure we are ready. Don’t be caught off guard! The time is now to start li ..read more

You are Anxious About Many Things

You are Anxious and worried about many things.  There is need of only one thing. Luke 10:41-42 One of the great things about being Christian is the promise of peace and security that comes with following Jesus Christ.  This peace is something that we as Christians seek to attain as our relationship with God grows and becomes more mature.  Anxiety and fear are at epidemic levels these days, for Christians and non-Christians alike.  However, the promise of God’s daily walk with us through thick and thin is something that can help us break out of the confinement of such feel ..read more

Woe to America?

Jesus said to them, “Woe to you, Chorazin!  Woe to you, Bethsaida!  For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.” Luke 10:13 Think of the mighty deeds that God has done for America!  In the relatively short time that the United States has been in existence, it has vaulted in power and wealth – and found favor with God.  The founding Fathers created the country not as a theocracy, but in a form that was unprecedented at the time – a government for and by the people, with safegu ..read more

The Kingdom of God is At Hand For You

The world seems upside down these days.  Things are such a mess with our governments, social issues and in our personal lives.  People are struggling with physical and mental problems.  How did things get so off track? In the midst of it all, the Kingdom of God is advancing.  Jesus sent many disciples out ahead of him “as lambs among wolves” in order to prepare the people for His coming.  Today, we can do the same, inviting all that we encounter to know Jesus and return to a Godly way of living.  What plagues our societies is a collective turning from God.  M ..read more
