What is the relationship between Vitamin D and COVID-19? A new study that looked at 216 people with COVID-19 found that 80 percent didn’t have adequate levels of vitamin D in their blood. The study also found that people who had both COVID-19 and lower vitamin D levels also had a higher number of inflammatory markers such as ferritin and D-dimer, which have been linked to poor COVID-19 outcomes. A different study found that COVID-19 patients who had adequate vitamin D levels had a 51.5 percent lower risk of dying from the disease and a significant reduced risk for complications. After we eat our blood sugars level raises as sugar is absorbed into the blood stream, this rise in the blood sugar levels causes the pancreas to produce insulin which tells the cells to take in the sugar from the blood and return blood sugar levels to normal. When we have excess sugar in the blood s ..read more

The Liver has 500 vital functions: The liver is both an organ and a gland. The liver is the largest internal organ, which manufactures digestive enzymes, produces cholesterol; using amino acids to makes proteins and stores iron, glycogen and vitamins. It removes substances like poisons and waste products from the blood. It acts as the filter between the intestines and the heart. The liver is truly the master organ of the body and immune system, producing chemicals to combat viruses and bacteria, supporting phagocyte function, and producing antihistamine to neutralize substances that promote th ..read more

Part 1 Blood and Lymphatic systems: Functions of the Blood, Lymphatic, and Immune Systems Homeostasis, or a “steady state,” is a continual balancing act of the body systems to provide an internal environment that is comparable with life. The two liquid tissues of the body, the blood and lymph have separate but interrelated functions in maintaining this balance. They combine with a third system, the immune, to protect the body against pathogens that could threaten the organism’s viability.   The blood is responsible for the following: Transportatio ..read more

When one system fails the other is affected. The brain transmits information back and forth to the immune system though the nervous system. It is vital to nourish and strengthen the nervous system in order to protect the immune system.
