Horizon Forbidden West Review: Robots Dinosaurs Remain Cool

Horizon Forbidden West is finally here and it’s bigger and better in every way than its predecessor but hasn’t been able to captivate me the way the first game did. Am I burnt out by open-world games? Sure, who isn’t? Is the lore too complicated? Somewhat. Did this feel less like Horizon Zero Dawn and more like an open-world Ubisoft game? Yes. Is expecting a game to allow me to fully escape from what’s going on in the world truly possible? Probably not. But ultimately I found the game was far too complicated and full of long cut scenes that got in the way of me having fun. I’m here to wreck r ..read more

Forza Horizon 5: I Think I’ve Played This Game Before?

One of my favorite series is back with an all new adventure in Mexico, that honestly doesn’t feel all that different from what we’ve seen, but that’s not a bad thing. Forza’s back babbbbby. Forza Horizon 5, the latest entry in the Forza Horizon series of arcade racing games, arrives today on Xbox consoles and PC for players. It’s available to Xbox Game Pass members as of November 9th. Forza Horizon 5 is a car enthusiasts playground and an incredible way to show off the power of what’s underneath the hood of the Xbox Series X. I’ve always preferred the Horizon series over it’s much m ..read more

Far Cry 6 Review: A Far Cry From A New Experience

Ubisoft’s Far Cry 6 is out this week and it’s made me miss both tropical paradises and the Far Cry series. Far Cry 6 takes place in Yara, a fictional region that is heavily inspired by Cuba. It’s a tropical paradise frozen in time, where the people that oppose the dictator, Anton Castillo (played brilliantly by Afro-Italian actor GIancarlo Esposito) get murdered or sent to slavery. Stay in line, or pay the price. You play as Dani Rojas (A character that can be either male or female) as you try to bring the power back to the people with your superhero-like ability to catch fire and take bulle ..read more

Button City Review: I Feel Like A Monster For Tearing Down This Cute World
Brockstar Gaming

Button City is now available from developers Subliminal and Wings Interactive for the PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One X/S and Nintendo Switch and it sure is cute, but unfortunately lacks fun gameplay. Button City has you playing as the new kid in town, Fennel the Fox. After spending most of the summer in your room, not making friends, your mom is fed up and sends you out into the world. You’ll quickly find local arcade (where apparently all the cool kids hang out?), named the titular Button City. Because of your sick gaming skills you are immediately recruited into one of the local Gobapod crews. It ..read more

The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword Review

The dark horse of Zelda games is now available on the Nintendo Switch and it is a triumph. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword did the impossible. It turned one of the worst Zelda games I’ve ever played into a must play experience. The Nintendo Switch version of the game turns the old game on its head and improves on the game in every way making a worth while experience for both new and old players. I love this game and in hindsight it paved the way for Breath of the Wild. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword has you playing as Link in one of the earliest Zelda stories out there. It also introduc ..read more

Death’s Door Review: Holy Crow this is a good game.

Knock, knock, knocking on Death’s Door. Every morning in my office I look directly at one photo that reads,  ““Ma flesche (asseure toy) n’espargnera personne Vous danserez trestout ce balet, que je sonnne My arrow (I promise you) spares no one You will all dance the ballet of which I sing” It is a recreation of an anonymous German engraving from 1635 that featured a standing, smiling skeleton aiming a crossbow.  A broken arrow sits beside it and there is another one in the quiver. It was a piece of art designed to hang at eye level so that the arrow–the one locked and loaded into the ..read more

Psychonauts 2 Is a GOTY Contender (Hands On Preview)

Last week I had the chance to play a preview build of Psychonauts 2 and it completely blew me away. It’s weird, wonderful and wild and a serious contender for GOTY (Game of the Year). The original Psychonauts debuted in 2005 and was an incredibly fun action platformer. I recently went back and gave it another go to refresh my memory before getting my hands on the sequel. Safe to say, it still holds up and I love the characters and world that Double Fine created. It’s hard to believe the sequel is finally here after all these years. It was originally announced by publisher Double Fine in 2015 ..read more

Why Kids And Adults Alike Love Animation The global animation market value hit $259 billion in 2018 and doubled its value in 2020. However, experts believe it might take an unfortunate dip due to the ripple effects of the global pandemic. Regardless, it doesn’t change the fact that people love animation. Animation incorporates reality into a makeshift world where fictional non-human characters take on definitive roles. That said, here are some reasons why people love animation.  It allows the ultimate creative freedom Image credit  Did you know that there were early pioneers before ..read more

Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart Review

Ratchet and Clank are back, babbbbby and they are aging like fine wine. Picking up where the last game left off, the dynamic duo are back for an all new adventure across the multi-verse. You might want to be sitting down for this next fun fact, but this is the 16th (!!!) game in the series.  Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart takes place after 2016’s, Ratchet & Clank. Which was a reimagining of the game that started it all way back in 2002. That’s older than most of the people that will tell me “I’m a Sony Suckup” and that “YOU DIDN’T GIVE A GAME I HAVEN’T PLAYED THE SCORE IT DESERVED ..read more
