What I do for Snow Man – Sensei Sayonara (drama review)

There’s a fine line between dedication and stupidity, and I’m finally learning where that is for me. I am a fairly dedicated fan of Snow Man, all members so this past winter season when five out of nine members had airing dramas I was ecstatic. Even more so that three out of five were being fan subbed, which is a blessing. The thing is, I really ought to have known better by now that Sensei Sayonara, despite Watanabe Shota as the lead, was not going to be a drama I liked. It was not going to be a “kyaa~!” inducing drama like Koisuru Keigo 24Ji starring Iwamoto Hikaru was. It wasn’t going to be ..read more

What I watch for Snow Man – Livingroom no Matsunaga-san

Winter 2024 was a wild announcement of titles for Snow Man fans. We had five out of nine members of Snow Man in dramas. Miyadate Ryota was cast in Ooku, Iwamoto Hikaru in Koisuru Keigo 24ji (review coming soon!), Fukazawa Tatsuya in Haru ni Nattara, Watanabe Shota in Sensei Sayonara (review coming soon), and lastly Mukai Koji here in Livingroom Matsunaga-san. Granted of the five titles, three got fansubs right away. Yay for the power of Snow Man and their supporters! Unfortunately, two of those three are dramas I would not chose on my own if it weren’t for Snow Man’s influence. I’m getting a t ..read more

Are You Okay? – FAKY’s Chose Your Own Adventure Mini Drama

I stumble down rabbit holes of nostalgia all the time. This past year, I was digging through my old music and recalled FAKY. Back when I first started my blog, believe it or not I was absolutely obsessed with them. I actively followed them from about 2016 until mid-2020. They’re a group that faced a lot of line-up changes and never quite seemed to catch a break. In my nostalgia, I checked in with them earlier this year only to find out on January 13th 2024, they performed their last show as five members: Mikako, Lil’ Fang, Akina, Taiki, and Hina. It was also announced that original members, ba ..read more

First and foremost, Happy New Year fellow bloggers, readers, and those that have stumbled upon this post! I hope that your new year celebrations have gone smoothly, and that you aren’t any worse for wear afterwards. As for me, it’s been relatively peaceful but slightly chaotic on my end. As these posts have snow balled over the years, I’m going to do something a little bit different. I do have some pretty big updates for my site this year I want to talk about. I will of course, get to my goals from last year, and any other goals I have for this coming year. Without further ado, let’s jump in ..read more

Well, here we are the finish line for my end of the year programming! Granted the title doesn’t particularly inspire but it works for what it is. It’s all for fun, just a nice little recap about what I’ve seen over 2023. Some are new, some are old, a few you will most likely groan about since can’t I just drop it already? We’ll have to take a look at it together! I WATCHED THIS BUT NEVER REVIEWED IT So Future! Future! was a tiny drama that had a really spaced out release schedule. Like it started in July 2022, and didn’t finish until January 2023 and was barely three minutes an episode. It’s ..read more

An Uncomfortable Look at Who I Could Have Been – Gachikoi Nenchakujuu

Well, well, well if it isn’t another live action adaptation of a manga series I’ve never read. This comes as a surprise to no one at this point, especially not me. It’s also very easy for me to say why I even bothered with this series in the first place: Ishii Anna. It’s also a title that’s a tiny bit in a weird grey zone. I started it back when it was airing, with Japanese close captioning (I think?). And now I have somehow managed to finish it with English subs (which I am grateful for), so my viewing is just a touch skewed in a way. Either way, I’m getting a bit ahead of myself, so let’s ta ..read more

Well that was a drama I guess – Ciguatera (drama review)

I think it would surprise most people that for the majority of my life, I never got the whole ‘be hype due to a single name in a project’ thing. The idea that people would see a movie just because one A-lister in Hollywood was attached to it never made sense to me. That’s probably due to my nose being so far into manga that I barely bothered with Hollywood. Also because I knew most storytelling can’t rely on a single good part. So I do guess it is funny that now that I’m super into JDramas, and JMovies that I do exactly that. I will see a single name of interest, usually someone from EXILE TRI ..read more

What I Watched on Hiatus

During my hiatus, you can guess that I watched a fair amount of stuff due to re-adjusting from jet lag and such. There are quite a few titles I managed to write separate reviews for, and those will roll out when they’re ready. This is just a brief rundown of other anime, movies, dramas, etc that I saw but couldn’t bring myself to write a full review of. Also yes, the SK8 palm trees are going to be my go-to gif for any time I mention Hiatus. Hypersonic Music Club I’ve been trying to get back into anime a little bit at a time. Shorter projects, especially this ‘lost’/unreleased episode came out ..read more

About Sunday Night… (the drama review!)

As someone who is chronically on Instagram, I am overly up-to-date on what my favorite entertainment groups and actors are up to. Back in March/April, it was announced that Kawamura Kazuma had been cast in Nichiyo no Yoru Gurai wa… or About Sunday Night and I was unsurprisingly curious, but in a cautious manner. I support Kazuma’s acting endeavors but it is not his main forte. However, seeing the poster had the talents of Seino Nana, Kishi Yukino and even Nukumi Meru as the main cast and Kazuma as a secondary support… I figured I could allow myself to at least watch the first episode and go fr ..read more

Japanese Media to Watch Instead of The Weeknd’s “The Idol”

Ideally by the time I’m posting this I’ll have watched The Idol. It’s only five episodes after all. I usually make a point to give a piece of media, despite it’s reputation, a fair shake before judging it. However… I won’t lie my viewing experience was severely biased. Mostly because I felt like I saw the entire series vicariously through various content creators and weird snippets. The commentary on the show seems to have more value then show itself. Either way, it’s safe to say The Idol sucked. It had some solid visuals but that was about it. The story was bad, the side plots where bad, the ..read more
