Apr 19, 2024 7:31 AM EDT This winter, I lamented that the rose bushes at the front of our house looked gangly and scraggly.  We didn't prune them as early as we had last year, and I wondered what they would look like come spring.  Also, my husband had added three more little bushes beside the driveway.  They weren't forlorn looking, but they were small.  Thank you, Rose, and so perfect that you are the first person to comment on this post!?:0) Robyn, so happy that your knockout roses obliged and knocked you out, surprisingly! I've had a few sudden garden developments too. I ..read more

Detail from the cover of DICKENS MICE by Kim Poovey, illustrated by Robyn Hood Black. Ah, I do wish you luck on Monday, Robyn, nearly a closing of the story/poem! And I love your "Dicken's Mice" reminder, along with "no little feast/is spread any more"! Yes, I set a couple of traps, waiting, waiting. I set more the next day (I have the catch & release ones). Nothing. He must have a way out, but I've never seen ..read more

Robyn, what a delight. Have a blessed St. Patrick's Day. I have heard both of those Irish blessings, and I don't know any more. Although, I see there are a lot of them online. Like you said, some real and some fabricated, I would guess. The March poem by Emily D. is so fun and energetic--like springtime. Enjoy your Spring! Reply by Robyn Hood Black on Mar 15, 2024 3:08 PM EDT Mar 15, 2024 8:44 AM EDT Robyn, thanks for ushering in St. Patrick's Day with poetic thoughts. Happy Easter to those who celebrate, and blessings to all. . The second incarnation of the Olympics (our modern games) was first hosted in Paris in 1900, and France has hosted them four more times since then.  (It wasn't really called the Olympics, but had a long, boring name. The months-long event, however, kicked off the modern Olympics era.) to apply a shop-wide coupon code for Poetry Month if interested.)
