A Wesley Chapel man faces drug charges and charges of practicing dentistry without a license after Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies said he cleaned and extracted teeth in his home and gave patients non-prescribed antibiotics. Jose Emilio Mas Fernandez was arrested Wednesday night after an undercover investigation, according to an arrest report. A deputy who posed as a patient said Mas Fernandez agreed to pull one of his teeth and give him antibiotics for a total of $170. A 7-year-old boy in India has been relieved of yearslong swelling and pain in his jaw after doctors removed a growth that had been harboring over 500 teeth inside. The boy, identified as Ravindran, of Chennai, had been experiencing discomfort on the right side of his jaw since he was 3, according to Reuters.
