The Tories will sell the NHS if you don’t vote to protect it has been a Labour slogan for successive elections now and sadly, despite the NHS being widely seen as one of the most important considerations when it comes to voting, protecting it from said Tories has never won the day. The economy is seen by many to be more important, ‘the NHS is still there what are you talking about?’ Might be another, ‘typical lefty scaremongering’ might be a third. It wasn’t all that long ago that the spectre of TTIP, the Transatlantic Trade & ..read more

Here we go again. It’s been announced that the Tier system which has already failed once, leading to another month long national lockdown, if you can call keeping schools open a lockdown. Nonetheless it does appear to have had a bit of an effect, flattening the curve, if not seeing a slight dip, but now we’re going to reopen after these small gains and that curve will go up again. The Tory tier system might be reopening to more stringent restrictions, but that won’t last as Tory backbenchers kick off about even that. We’ll never se ..read more

The long-awaited EHRC report into Labour antisemitism came out, widely anticipated by the right of the party to be a bloodbath of condemnation of racist Corbyn and his hard left acolytes, but if that was the case, they were set to be disappointed, because actually, I found it reasonably balanced for the most part. It only examined 70 cases for all the time it took, covering the period 2016–2019, so covered the time up until April 2018 where Jennie Formby became General Secretary and the report found that things were massively impro ..read more

WARNING: BAD LANGUAGE ALERT. IF YOU’RE EASILY OFFENDED THIS ONE ISN’T FOR YOU. IF ON THE OTHER HAND STARVING KIDS HAS YOU SWEARING TOO, THEN READ ON.
Scum she called them. Scum and she got reprimanded for it. If ever there was an absolute failure in parliament to be representative it was Angela Rayner being forced to apologise to that vacant tuss Chris Clarkson for speaking truth, but frankly I felt she was rather restrained and to see deputy speaker Eleanor Laing make such a scene of utter pomposity of it frankly sickened me ..read more

The Labour Party NEC Elections reach a critical point tomorrow as the ballots open, papers start to arrive and votes start being cast. After seeing the level of appeasition and not opposition within Labour, I hope members are aware of just how critical it is we have a robust, left-wing NEC and will be casting their votes for the Grassroots Voice slate as their first 6 choices under this STV system that’s been forced on us by the right wing & for Mark McDonald as their 7th choice. There are of course 9 votes to cast should you w ..read more

I stole my name from a dead baby, that’s how they described me. I’ll stand behind you til we’re all free, searching for conspiracy. I look for proof but that’s just me, I study and deceive Drug Bust McGee.
The best way out they told me was to blame it on insanity. To run away to my folks back home, who to all of you will remain unknown. It was you I came to investigate, I’m the one to watch the one to hate. I rifled through your every room and I’m the one who stole your womb.

Unity & Patriotism — you’re Representative of Neither Keir, so I’m Damned if I’ll Represent you. https://medium.com/media/ff5971ac7916ae45ecca901c820b8710/href
It was once said by Samuel Johnson that patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel. Jeremy Corbyn felt differently, he said patriotism is about supporting each other, not attacking someone else. I think there’s elements of truth to both and on Corbyn’s terms, last night Keir Starmer was anything but patriotic.
Last night was the second reading of the controversial Overseas Operations Bill, an obscene piece of legislation that wo ..read more

So this lunchtime Professor Chris Whitty and Sir Patrick Vallance, two figures we’ve become readily accustomed to on our screens now appeared to tell us exactly what the craic is now regarding a second wave, without any member of the government present. I must admit I was secretly hoping they’d gone rogue especially after that Spectator pic had done the rounds. Chris Whitty looked like he was set to rip Johnson’s throat out, Matt Hancock had been sent to the corner forgetting his dunce cap and Dominic Cummings was eyeing him up lik ..read more

Fool me once, more fool you; fool me twice, more fool me as the saying goes and sadly in a rather twisted way it fits with the governmental response to COVID-19 this year, with the deaths of tens of thousands of people. Despite promising to ‘learn the lessons’ and having a summer to do so where cases had dropped, it’s becoming clear that isn’t the case. Testing and tracing has been screwed up, handed to profiteers instead of being run by people who would know what they were doing & overseen by Dido Harding whose litany of caree ..read more

Call it what it is — Serco Test & Trace. https://medium.com/media/85e8efdbcc489abad6fe09fc5708aa3e/href
I wrote about disaster prone Dido Harding almost a month ago, when she was given the gig to oversee NHS Test & Trace and now, in mid September, we’ve run out of tests. Well that’s one way to dodge the work I suppose! Where is she? For someone supposedly in charge she’s been rather conspicuous by her absence.
Test & Trace, despite being consistently connected with the NHS by the supine media outlets, isn’t run by the NHS at all anymore, but as per usual with the Tories h ..read more
