The boys in Vegas are not too keen on Florida again this year. (Photo via Florida Gators)
In the offseason leading up to the 2023 season, the boys in Vegas did not think much of the Florida Gator football team, giving them a projected win total of 5.5 wins. That projection turned out to be prophetic, as Florida finished 5-7 and did not make a bowl game.
Fast forward one year later, and the projections seem eerily similar.
Not only is Florida’s projected win total again sitting right at 5.5, but now DraftKings has actually come out with some betting lines for individual games— and they don’t fa ..read more

Welcome to Gator Nation, Jason Zandamela! (Photo credit: Erik McKinney, WeAreSC)
Florida is still five months away from hosting pseudorival Central Florida in the Swamp, but Billy Napier just picked up a nice win over the Golden Knights on the recruiting trail.
Former USC offensive lineman Jason Zandamela has decided to transfer to Florida, choosing the Gators over UCF as his destination in his return to the Sunshine State. Zandamela played his high school ball in Clearwater (Clearwater Academy International) and originally signed with the Trojans in January. But evidently, he soon realized he ..read more

Welcome to the big time, Ricky Pearsall! (Photo via Florida Gators)
For the San Francisco 49ers, receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel were being tossed out to the NFL waters as trade bait as rumors of John Lynch’s team moving up in the 2024 NFL Draft went from whispers to murmurs. Instead of decreasing their number of playmaking receivers, the defending NFC champions adjusted that number upward.
San Francisco 49ers fans, meet Ricky Pearsall, formerly of the Arizona State Sun Devils and the Florida Gators. Lynch saw him available with the 31st pick in the NFL Draft, and didn’t hesitate. He ..read more

One of the more shocking decommitments in recent history took place this past week, as four-star offensive lineman Peyton Joseph backed off his Florida pledge and re-opened his commitment.
Of course, the shock triggered exactly the type of responses that you’d expect. Anger, outrage, and disappointment quickly reverberated across social media. Because it was rather surprising: Joseph had just committed to Florida two months ago, and seemed to be solidly sticking with it.
Until, well, he wasn’t.
Now, the tea leaves are starting to read FSU, as the Georgia prospect decommitted fresh off a visit ..read more

Welcome to Gator Nation, Alijah Martin! (Photo via Florida Atlantic basketball)
In the world of college athletics, there are nice additions, and then there are really nice additions. And then there are game-changing additions that can flip your team’s outlook overnight.
In the case of guard Alijah Martin, Todd Golden and the Gators achieved the latter.
The former Florida Atlantic Owl is officially set to migrate north to Gainesville as a graduate transfer following a stellar career in Boca Raton. He chose Florida over Arkansas– that’s a head-to-head win over John Calipari– as well as Alabama a ..read more

The Blue team defeated the Orange team, 19-17, in the annual Florida Gators spring game on Saturday on a game-winning kick from Trey Smack. There were plenty of things to like, a few things to not like, and a lot more things to look forward to this fall.
What stood out along the way?
DJ Lagway is legit
Let’s get the obvious spring game caveats out of the way immediately. Lagway was in a non-contact jersey, meaning opposing players could not level him or even touch him beyond a simple tap on the arm or shoulder. And spring games are meant to showcase the quarterbacks’ s ..read more

Happy Orange and Blue Spring Game week to all those who celebrate! That’s right, the Florida Gators spring game is just five days away. Florida also just held another scrimmage over the weekend.
All that means it’s time for another round of Florida Gators spring practice news and notes. As per usual, nothing I write is based on one single observation or vantage point to weed out anomalies.

With spring practice about halfway complete, I thought today would be a good day to compile some more news and notes from the Florida Gators’ spring practice season. As is always the case, I will not publish a conclusion from any one person; insights and analysis are only published when confirmed by two or more people.
So, what’s been going on recently?
Graham Mertz developing trust, timing with new batch of receivers
The Florida Gators are obviously going to miss wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, and as far as replacing him goes, that process is… well, a process. There ..read more

For Todd Golden, the 2023-24 Gator basketball team could be the one that’s remembered as the team that laid the foundation down for future success. (Photo via Gator basketball team)
Throughout sports history, there are teams that are remembered not for championships or records, but for being the foundation of things to come later.
It’s not always necessarily a coach’s first year. Growth isn’t always linear. Not every story begins with a true chapter one. But at some point, as great programs rise up the ranks and pass other programs along the way, there comes a season that proves what a coach i ..read more

The Florida Gators 2025 football schedule will look a lot like their 2024 schedule.
Almost identical, really. Well, no, not almost. It is identical.
It’s just inverted.
The Southeastern Conference unveiled the 2025 opponents for each football team today. And they didn’t appear to have put a whole lot of time and effort into it. The Gators’ eight SEC opponents will be the exact same eight opponents that they’re set to face this year.
The only difference between the Florida Gators 2024 schedule and 2025 schedule is that the locations are inverted. Florida will travel t ..read more
