Hi! I hope this finds you all healthy! I have been meaning to send this blog post out for a while! Anyone else surprised how your time gets filled even with everything shut down?! We have been sharing our sourdough starter with friends who are local and the starter recipe with friends who aren’t local. If you have run out of Netflix shows to watch, here’s one for you. In the documentary on Netflix called Cooked, Michael Pollan bets that those with a gluten intolerance, might be ok with sourdough bread. This has to do with the fact that the fermentation process helps break down the gluten, maki ..read more

Homemade Ramen!

Hope this finds you all well! I posted a picture of my ramen on my IG and FB story and had a few ask how to do it. I don’t know about you, but I grew up on Top Ramen, which my family called “bang soup” because you would hit the packet with your fist until all the noodles broke apart. Since Top Ramen is filled with all kinds of ingredients I am not a fan of, I won’t buy it. Turns out, it’s super easy and even more delicious than the super-processed version. Costco carries a gluten-free ramen noodle, so I use that one. You can pretty much use whatever vegetables you have leftover in the fridge ..read more

Bullying + Comfort Food
Real Transformation.

I hate that I have to have these conversations with my kids. I hate that bullying is happening as early as elementary school. The conversation I had with my daughter is something I only came to learn for myself within the last couple years. I pray that the seed is planted in their hearts and take root so that they will keep their heads high no matter what trials they face. After watching my baby cry herself to sleep last week, my momma heart was broken, and I didn’t sleep well at all that night. Lying awake for most of the night, I kept asking God to give me the words to speak over my daughte ..read more

Catchy title, huh?! This is kind of what my life is focused on these days- yummy food and spiritual growth. Good for the body + soul. ;) I was asked to teach about confession recently at my Women’s Bible Study, and this is the lesson I came up with. Not the easiest topic I could have been assigned, but it stretched me and allowed me to grow in my understanding of what confession truly is! I have been asked to share it multiple times, so I figured I would put it here to help as many people as I can. Shame + Guilt Brene Brown, a shame researcher, says there is a profound difference between shame ..read more

My entire life I wanted to get married and have kids. I had an amazing husband and was pregnant with #3! I had everything I had ever wanted. Why was I so miserable?! Guilt ravaged me, which only left me feeling even more terrible. In 2012 I was a drowning SAHM looking for a lifeline. I needed somebody to throw me a life preserver to keep from going under completely. I was exhausted, lonely, isolated, and without any sense of purpose or destiny over my life. As a 7 on the enneagram, I never dug deep to figure out why I was feeling these things. I just avoided it altogether and pretended I was ..read more

We don’t like to talk about it, but it’s real, and it affects a vast majority of people, men and women. Dandruff. You may be asking, “how do you make it go away?!” Instead of turning to pharmaceutical answers or going to the store immediately to buy something, I like to figure out. If I can use what I already know and things I already have to solve a problem, that’s a win in my book. There are a few causes of dry skin on your scalp to consider: What kinds of products are you using? Shampoo, conditioner, and hair products could all be causing your dry scalp. There are lots of harsh chemicals ..read more
