My “Overnight” Success Story
#Robventures
by Robert "Robdoesitall" Yarber

It was early 2014 and I had just finished my 5th year in a maximum security prison. I had gotten in trouble at 21, ten months of bail put me in prison from 22-26, and drug dealing from 26-28 gave me another year in prison at 28. My life had been an absolute MESS of poor choices, drugs, hustling, and anything else bad that you can think of. I was 29 years old. I didn’t have even $1 to my name. I was living in a halfway house of sorts, a clean and sober living Oxford house that my PO paid for, but I only had 30 days for free. After that I was on my own. Thanks to Iain Duncan and Kyle Davis, I wa ..read more

New England Humidity

Since all my long and introspective blogs have been cherry picked for my upcoming book “My Beautiful Nightmare: From the Bottom of Prison, to the Top of the World” I have been struggling to find a place for what to write here. All the things of supreme substance have been jacked by my agent for the publisher. I have decided that I will use this space for my thoughts and keep things short. Could be a couple paragraphs. Could be a couple sentences. I hope y’all rock with that! So what I have to say is that the humidity out here in Maine is killing me!! I don’t know how I grew up in Northern Virg ..read more

How Do I Deal With the Midnight Sun?! ☀️
#Robventures
by Robert "Robdoesitall" Navnløs

You guys know I live 220 miles above the Arctic Circle in Tromsø, Norway and people ask me how I deal with the Midnight Sun and if it bothers me. So right now, and until the 25th of July, the sun will not set. It’s in the sky all 24 hours everyday. It does affect some things. It makes the weekends at my bartending job a little different because we have DJ’s every weekend. People don’t want to dance in a bar when it’s brightly lit. That’s the thing about dance floors right? You want to dance in the darkness, that way the disco ball and the lights can show. You don’t want everyone seeing what yo ..read more

How to Travel the World with Felonies
#Robventures
by Robert Yarber

A lot of people in America have been to prison. Even more so have been to jail. America is the most imprisoned country in the world actually and that leaves a lot of its citizens with felonies. So many people with felonies think that they can’t travel around the world. Falsely, they think it’s impossible with no real reasoning behind it. All you need to travel the world is a passport! Having felonies does not in any way prevent you from getting a passport. In this video I’ll tell you how I’ve been to 33 countries around the world with felonies. Showing you it’s VERY possible! Don’t forget to s ..read more

The Best Thing About Svalbard, is Svalbard Adventures
#Robventures

#MyBeautifulNightmaread the extreme pleasure to live and work in Longyearbyen, Svalbard. It’s such a magical place and there are so many cool and interesting people from all over the world there. Many people ask me about the good, the bad, and the ugly of living there. So in response I wanted to share what I consider to be the best part of Svalbard. This is easy for me because the absolute best thing is Svalbard Adventures. When I lived there, I was a bartender at Svalbar Pub. When I interviewed over the phone for the job, I was living in New York City and I thought it was a straightforward ba ..read more

Crazy & Interesting Alcohol Rules on Svalbard!
#Robventures
by Robert Yarber
1y ago
While Svalbard is technically a part of Norway, the rules on drinking differ from the mainland quite a bit. Yes it is true that you get a little card for the liquor store that basically gives you a ration for alcohol. You can only buy 30 cans a beer a month. You could buy one per day or 30 at one time on the first day it doesn’t matter. You can also only buy one bottle of spirit a month. That’s only one spirit. So you can’t buy one bottle of gin and one bottle of vodka. You would have to buy the gin this month and the vodka next month. But! They are slow af about those cards. I lived there for ..read more
