One generation commends your works to the next. One of my favorite things to do is to honor and celebrate my parents and my family. It’s part of my gratitude habits. I am grateful because I know and see how far God has brought myself and my family. It is surely the grace and favor of God that sustained and kept us. What experiences in life helped you grow the most? God is more interested in refining our character than in granting us comfort. This does not mean God is wicked and does not want to comfort us. We are all familiar with the bible verse: "Obedience is better than sacrifice and submission is better than offering the fat of rams." (1 Samuel 15:22, NLT). This means that God is more invested in our ability to hear and obey Him first and foremost than the service we give to Him. Controversial, I know! Those two ideas are not mutually exclusive.
