Why I’m Not Just Getting On With It

to Woke Souls, I can only now just about allow myself to reflect upon last year and begin to acknowledge and organise the thoughts and emotions surrounding my experience. I found myself reverting back to safety behaviours I thought I’d outgrown, battling emotions I thought I’d released, facing obstacles I thought I’d overcome and most of all re-introducing myself to lessons I thought I’d learnt. I had become so completely dependent on the two closest people to me, that at times it felt terrifying to be with anyone else, let alone to be by myself — not that it made a difference as even when I w ..read more

“How are you?” “I’m well thanks, how are you?” “Yeh good – same old really.” to Woke Souls, During a year where so many of us felt extremely disconnected and disorientated, a large proportion of us found ourselves trying to stay hopeful or positive, not necessarily because we actually felt that way – but more so because we felt we had no other real choice. Energy healing is offered from the perspective that everything in creation is made of energy. Our thoughts are energy, our beliefs are energy, our memories are energy and our actions create energy patterns. We are literally living in an energetic matrix that we call reality. When we see life from this perspective it becomes obvious to us that in order to truly heal something we must heal it at its root, at the level of energy. As this is where it was first created ~ energetically. Much of our modern medicine and current way of living focuses on targeting and resolving the symptoms rather than ..read more

I Am Learning to Unlearn – Jo Woodford

I grew up anxious & scared of the world. I would cry when faced with a challenge or a question I didn’t know how to answer. I would lose sleep, lose teeth from grinding too much and fail to keep stable friendships & relationships. I would get overwhelmed when faced with confrontation or any kind of discomfort that I didn’t know how to deal with. It wasn’t until I was 19 years old when I started to consistently go to therapy (I jumped to and from therapists since I was 13 years old) and began to unpack how I lived & how I thought. It was incredibly unpleasant. I realised I was livin ..read more

A Self-Love Morning Routine – Charmaine Pourier

For most of us, being happy means doing the things you love. It involves being truthful and making priorities for the things you’re passionate about. What that means is different for each and every one of us. For me, I love being in nature, I love to journal, I love feeling “put together”, I can’t live without music, and I love to sleep. I not only love doing these things, but I also need them. When I get flaky with my self-care routine, it has an immediate impact on my state of mind, so consistency in self-love and self-care is vital here.  Self-love Practicing self-love will c ..read more
