Baylor snags Jeremy Roach, is Aidoo on the way? | Indiana raided the Pac12 | Michigan doing work!

Baylor lands Jeremy Roach in the transfer portal and it should be a great get for Scott Drew, who decided to stay in Waco rather than taking the Kentucky job. The Bears look poised to also bring in Tennessee transfer Jonas Aidoo.  Indiana has been on an absolute tear. What is what Mike Woodson had to have in order to keep his job?  Michigan, while not able to enroll Johnell Davis, is loading up with players who have multiple years of eligibility, have good positional size, and are good rebounders.    Join the Locked On College Basketball Discord: https://discord.gg/bsKxDp8Q ..read more

Kentucky loses EVERYONE (& all but 1 incoming freshman) | Duke almost does the same | Michigan Admissions strikes again

Kentucky has now lost every scholarship-level player from last season’s roster (and lost all but one of the incoming freshmen). Mark Pope has a long, uphill climb ahead of him, but should be able to navigate. Can he get anyone to stay in Lexington? Adou Thiero? Can he convince anyone to come with him from BYU to Kentucky?  Duke is in a similar boat although they retained two returners – Tyrese Proctor and Caleb Foster. How will Jon Scheyer utilize the portal…or rather: build around Cooper Flagg?  For the third straight offseason, the Michigan Admissions department has cost the basket ..read more

The College Basketball offseason is still in its early stages, but that doesn't mean it's too early to take a look at a top 25 projection for the upcoming season. Both the Kansas Jayhawks and Houston Cougars look like they'll compete for top billing out of the Big 12 conference next season, but where does defending champion UConn fall? Duke has seen quite a few players enter the NCAA transfer portal, will the youth movement be enough to keep Jon Scheyer's team in the top ten? What about Alabama or Auburn? And finally, will Kentucky and Arkansas build top 25 caliber rosters under new coaches Ma ..read more

What should BYU expect from the Kevin Young era? | What will BYU's roster look like? | Tarris Reed to UConn

BYU hired Kevin Young from the Phoenix Suns at a faster-than-normal pace. Because of his NBA ties, it’s hard to know what to expect moving forward for the Cougars. Young will stay with the Suns through their playoff run, so the expectation is that assistants will handle recruiting in the mean time. Will Coach Young be able to entice back players like Aly Khalifa or Dallin Hall UConn landed a big man on Wednesday in the form of Michigan transfer Tarris Reed. This will allow Dan Hurley to continue playing a platoon big man system as he has done the previous two national championship seasons with ..read more

Jeremy Roach on the move, Duke gets younger | Oumar Ballo to Indiana - is it the right fit? | BYU has their man

Duke’s Jeremy Roach announced on Tuesday that he is both declaring for the 2024 NBA Draft and entering the transfer portal. His departure makes a Duke team that was already projecting to be young all the younger. How will Coach Jon Scheyer utilize his three open scholarships to help alleviate that inexperience? Where will Roach ultimately land if he chooses the portal route?…it could come down to three Kentucky coaches! Prize center transfer Oumar Ballo is headed to Bloomington to play for Mike Woodson. It’s a great get for Indiana, but is it the right fit for a team that desperately needs thr ..read more

Mark Pope has the vibes right, but Kentucky's roster needs work! | Ivisic joins Calipari at Arkansas

Mark Pope's first press conference as the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats could not have gone better, helping raise the vibes in Big Blue Nation. Support from former UK coach Rick Pitino didn't hurt either, and it sounds like Kentucky and Saint John's will square off at Rupp Arena this season in what should be a huge treat for folks in Lexington. Pope may have killed the press conference, but now he needs to go to work building a roster which has seen multiple players leave via the transfer portal - including Aaron Bradshaw to Ohio State and Zvonimir Ivisic to Arkansas - as well as a handf ..read more

Kentucky’s brand new head coach Mark Pope held his introductory press conference on Sunday afternoon. By all accounts, he handled it really well. What happens next? What sort of roster will Pope be able to build? Will he be able (or want) to bring and of his BYU Cougars with him? Aly Khalifa? Will any of the Kentucky players in the portal come back to Lexington? Aaron Bradshaw? Adou Thiero? Will any of the incoming freshmen recommit or stay committed?  Heading into the offseason, Duke was way over budget on scholarship commitments for next season. Following a few transfers, notably Mark M ..read more

Scott Drew had a meal in Waco on Wednesday and Big Blue Nation had a field day while rumors about the Baylor coach taking over Kentucky from John Calipari. Is Drew the right guy to take over in Lexington, and does he want to leave a Bears program he helped build from the ground up? Plus Kentucky's offer to Danny Hurley and interest in Billy Donovan. Calipari had his first press conference as the head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks, and addressed his team meeting - without having much of a team as nearly everyone is in the transfer portal. Who from the Hogs might come back, and who might coac ..read more

Time for a NEW VOICE at Kentucky | Who replaces John Calipari? | Mark Mitchell in transfer portal
Locked On College Football
by Locked On Podcast Network

On Tuesday, John Calipari finally made it official that he was stepping away as the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats while saying that it was time for a new voice to lead the way. While we know Coach Cal is headed to Arkansas, he didn’t outright say it in his announcement video. In the meantime, the question becomes: Who will be the successor in Lexington? Nate Oats and Jay Wright are out. Reports are out that Baylor’s Scott Drew has been offered the job.  Duke’s Mark Mitchell becomes the first meaningful transfer of the Jon Scheyer era. Others entering the portal early this week inclu ..read more
