Shirt Collection Part Two: Norwich City 2014/15-2016/17 With Norwich City’s Premier League relegation days away from being confirmed, the attention will fast be turning towards preparation for another Championship campaign. Transfer rumours of those who could be joining or leaving the Canaries starting to grow, however, no news or hints on the shirts those who join will be wearing in the 2020/21 season has surfaced. In a week where clubs ranging from Chelsea to Cambridge have released their new shirts ahead of what could be another strange season for football, following the fallout of Covid-19 ..read more

Shirt Collection Part One: Norwich City 2017/18-2019/20 Football shirts are a vital part of a club’s identity on the pitch but are almost guaranteed to split opinions amongst fans off the pitch, especially when a new shirt is released ahead of next season. Concept kits, leaked images, and debate on designs are all prominent in the lead-up to a club’s new kit release day. However, often opinions on shirts can be influenced by the success of the team wearing it on the pitch, every shirt defined by whether it was a promotion, relegation, or mid-table campaign. Would Norwich’s iconic egg and cress ..read more

Over 16 weeks have passed since Tim Krul’s penalty heroics booked Norwich’s first FA Cup quarter-final in 28 years. If the Canaries are to continue their cup adventure, they must overcome a revived Manchester United at Carrow Road. Two dismal Premier League defeats against Everton and Southampton since the restart has ended all hopes of survival for the Canaries. However, despite their struggles in the league this season, the FA Cup has offered a lifeline for a better end to the campaign. The Canaries are one win away from a semi-final at Wembley, with two wins standing between Daniel Farke’s ..read more

The long awaited return to Premier League action for Norwich City is soon over, as Daniel Farke aims to try provide a fairlytale end to a far from ordinary season. The restart is far from the normal, but the Canaries bad luck with injuries has remained consistent. Almost three months on from Norwich City’s 1-0 defeat away at Bramall Lane, the Canaries return to their living room aiming to make it back-to-back home wins for the first time this season. Victory over Leicester City on February 28th seeming a long distant memory for many, but a result that gives Norwich the slimmest hopes of surviv ..read more

With 18 league games standing between the Canaries and a potential promotion back to the big time, how do Farke’s men need to go about their business between now and the end of the season? The usual saying is; “if you average 2 points per game you’ll be promoted”. However, this season looks to be different for once with no team currently hitting that target, with Leeds currently two-points behind, City three-points behind that target, and Sheffield United and West Brom six-points behind. The average championship promotion points total is 92.7 over the past ten years. Wolves won the title last ..read more

Are Clubs Too Quick To Fire Managers?
TheYellowBirdBlog
by Adam Harvey

Are clubs always right in sacking managers when things don’t work straight away? And how long is too long for them to get it right? Football is a ruthless business often completely driven by results and nothing but results. If things aren’t going in a particular way the reaction from fans often is to look at the manager and question whether he is the right man for the job. Football fans are entitled to an opinion as they pay their hard earned cash following their teams up-and-down the country and often across the world. However, it is easy to jump to results straight away without factor ..read more

The following article I wrote for the Norwich City Official Match Day Programme for the fixture against Bolton Wanderers. How can a man who was part of the team that won promotion to the Premier League never gets the credit he fully deserved? Perhaps much of it comes down to his lack of goal scoring prowess in a free-scoring team and being overshadowed by those players who have gone on to become club legends, such as Grant Holt and Wes Hoolahan. The man who joined Norwich from Colchester in June 2010 and was part of the team that thumped the Canaries on the opening day of the season in League ..read more

Pukki Pummels Bolton With Late Winner

Another late show for Norwich as Teemu Pukki strikes deep into injury time to restore the lead for the Canaries and maintain their position at the top-of-the-table. The Canaries took the lead on the stroke of half-time when Mario Vrancic slotted home from outside of the box. Norwich doubled their lead on the hour mark when Vrancic turned provider for Stiepermann to finish it for 2-0. Bolton reacted to this and got a goal back only four minutes later when Sammy Ameobi finished after a clever ball across by Andrew Taylor. Bolton looked to have stolen a point when they equalised after a scra ..read more

After returning to winning ways against Rotherham last Saturday, the Canaries will be hoping for more of the same against Bolton (preferably without going behind). With the aim of maintaining or extending the position at the top-of-the-table ahead of the Christmas schedule and tough fixtures coming up soon. Bolton fans haven’t had much to cheer about this season Form Norwich’s form just keeps getting better and better. A seventh win out of eight and the other one being a draw, goes to prove that the Canaries are flying. The win over Rotherham was another hard-fought win from behind, something ..read more

Rotherham Reflection And Club Update
TheYellowBirdBlog
by Adam Harvey

The situation of being one-goal behind is something the Canaries have felt a number of times this season, yet the response to this has been the same every time (Leeds aside). Last season, if Norwich went one behind they’d collapse and get beat comfortably, this season there is a swagger about Norwich that screams we’ll still win this game. So what has changed? Obviously having a goal threat up top and players to influence the game off the bench,0 due to the quality throughout the squad is a major factor. The fans are buying into the clubs philosophy and the unity amongst the management, player ..read more
