If you are a Browning Hi Power fan you have likely heard of the Inglis Hi Power pistols. They were made in Canada, under license from FN, from 1944 - 46. A short read, detailed history of the pistols produced by John Inglis & Co. can be found here: https://athlonoutdoors.com/article/i...power-pistols/ This year the Inglis name was bought and resurrected by SDS Imports. https://sdsimports.com/ They are importers of Tisas and other Turkish made pistols, rifles and shotguns. The Turks have been making a P-35 Hi Power clone for a year or so, and SDS appropriated the Inglis name for those pisto ..read more

Adopted Another Smith & Wesson

I was contemplating buying a Taurus Raging Hunter 357 with 8 inch barrel. I’m always on the lookout for old Smiths and had followed a bunch of auctions to their conclusion for long barreled 586’s, most selling for $1100 to $1300. Finally scored this no dash 586 for $700, after auction fees, shipping and transfer it totaled $869, about the same as the new Taurus, and I by far prefer the S&W. Shot it this morning. Sub 2 inches at 25 yards, using both factory 158 gr. FMJ and my handloaded 158 gr. LSWC with Unique. Zero muzzle flip with all that steel out front. SA trigger is light and DA is b ..read more

Super long range 22lr ammo tests--part 1

Today was my first chance to try out the new ammo's altogether--the conditions were calm at my house (though around 90 and stupid humid) so I figure it would be equally as good at the range which is only a mile or two from my house. Naturally they weren't, it was gusty side cross from 10 to 15 + mph and my long range lane was once again closed to me, so I had to settle for a "short" long range of 128 yds. In other words, results probably don't reveal anything I could bank on, but at least I got tor try them out. First up was Lapua's long range --which I had shot before out of a different rifl ..read more

Seriously !!! I was just on powder, Valley and Midsouth  . What happen …… no serious question did something happen in the last year or so , well maybe it’s been close to 2 years since the last time I bought powder . I thought the prices were supposed to be coming down a little more ( from 2 yrs ago prices ) or at least stabilizing ?. I mean IMR-4064 is like $430 for 8# . You know there’s a problem when the cheap powders cost m ..read more
