I know that any “which oil is best” thread will lead to tons of debate-but I had a fairly specific application, but I suspect others on here have some experience with. does anyone have suggestions on good gun for a gun (Beretta) that I will keep in the center console lockbox of my truck? It will, of course, get really hot in there during these summer months, and I would prefer that the not be so runny in the heat that it just gets oil all over the lock box. Also want to protect the gun and... Gun oil for hot car storage ..read more

Went to the Saxet gun show in Robstown TX, just outside of Corpus Christi on Sunday. There was a vendor there selling marijuana paraphernalia, bongs, hash pipes and crack pipes. What in the world? I'm used to seeing jewelry, jerky, purses and leather goods, but drug stuff ..read more

Would you shoot it?

I wasn't sure where to put this. It's not really about guns so I didn't think it belonged in general firearms. And while it is about shooting a wild animal, it's not about hunting. So hopefully this is the right spot. I saw this meme. Glass door, and the cat is sitting in the living room looking out the door. There's a cougar on The porch looking back in the door. And the joke is something about the cat thinks he's looking in a mirror and boy he looks good. But the reality is, there is a... Would you shoot it ..read more

Not getting much in detail, but what I've read from people who've built these the one complaint I see over and over is that these rifles end up being "very heavy". Eight, nine, ten pounds unloaded? I'd expect them to be in the same weight class as an M1 Garand or an M14 - certainly not as light as an M16 rifle. Does anyone have any guesses or experience in the unloaded... Has anyone seen or have thoughts on this new take-down rifle? I found it on instagram and think it's an interesting concept STOWAWAY Rifle | Ultralight Takedown Rifle | Dark Mountain Arms The STOWAWAY Rifle is designed to be the most versatile single-shot rifle available. The detachable barrel allows the rifle to be taken down to half its length and easily fit into most backpacks while still being quick to put into action. darkmountainarms.com ..read more

Decided to smoke a bacon wrapped pork tenderloin today. Should have posted earlier when it was done but priorities like eating first took precedence. Used a simple brine of salt, brown sugar, crushed juniper berries and bay leaves, marinaded about 4 hours than used a dry honey rub bbq powder cooked to 145º with all the fixings ..read more
