Ryan McDonagh cut his teeth on the outdoor rinks in St. Paul, and like any true Minnesotan, dreamed of some day lifting the Stanley Cup over his head. Little did McDonagh, 31, know it would be more than a decade before he reached the top of the mountain again. He never got it done at the University of Wisconsin, failed to medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, and consistently came up short of the ultimate goal as the l ..read more

Wild general manager Bill Guerin has already changed so much this offseason. On Saturday, he decided to keep something the same, re-signing winger Jordan Greenway to a two-year, $4.2 million contract. The 23-year-old Greenway tallied 28 points (8 goals, 20 assists) in 67 games last season. He was originally selected by the Wild in the second round of the 2015 NHL Draft, and while he hasn’t lived up to his potential yet, his 6-foot-6, 225-pound frame make him an intrigue building block for the future. It’s unclear where Greenway will play in the lineup next season. He’s been slotted mostly in t ..read more

After stressing the importance of finding a No. 1 goaltender all offseason, Wild general manager Bill Guerin has finally found his man. A sourced confirmed to the Pioneer Press that the Wild will sign 33-year-old Cam Talbot to a three-year, $11 million contract. This was far and away the top priority for Guerin going into next season.
