Modified "Anthony Dickey Wash and Go"

He is the owner of the "Hair Rules" haircare line and salon. His salon focuses on curly, kinky, and frizzy hair types and textures. Since I was looking for a shorter time to do my wash and go, being curious enough to learn something new, I watched to see what he was talking about. So I decided to give it a try. What I learned was my shower didn’t stay hot long enough to completely follow my wash routine. However, I did like the part about shaking my hair out in the shower because Anthony said it would stretch out my hair more. The results I had were better than taking the time to section off ..read more

"A strong password can help keep your account secure, and minimizes the risk of your account being compromised." The most important thing you should do is create secure passwords for all your online and mobile accounts. Ideally, each account should have a different password to limit the shenanigans of hackers. As hard as this might be to do, if you use the same password for your bank account and your work email, the hacker now has access to your money and the accounts of all your coworkers and more. The positive in having different passwords is if your work email should get hacked, you will on ..read more

Doux Mousse Def Review

I heard other reviews and videos rave about this mousse and had to try it. I have to say, they were right. I heard other reviews and videos rave about this mousse and had to try it. I have to say, they were right. I have fine texture, low porosity natural hair. My hair is short, but when stretched the back comes to my collar bone and the front comes to the end of my nose (to give you a reference). I get good definition using a gel, but this product really defined my hair, and I had more body. Also, no flaking. Body is a problem for those of us with fine hair. My curls lasted 4 days, especially ..read more

Dear Natural Hair Product Creators:
Natural Hair TLC

I write this post today not to offend you, but to find a way to make better natural hair products. It has been 2 years and I am finally frustrated with trying products that either do not work on my hair, or cause flakes. Is there anyone that cares enough about black natural hair to create products that work for at least most black hair textures? I have fine textured, low porosity hair that does not like creams, products that contain milk, or products that contain protein. It seems that those who do create products, create them based on what works with their hair. Just my observations and opini ..read more

Product Layering

I don’t know about you, but I think there is just as much or more trial and error in finding the best method for layering products on your hair as there is for finding the correct product combination. I am at the end of 2020 (2 years), and I’m still having trouble with products flaking once my hair is dry. I don’t seem to have trouble with my hair being moisturized, just the flaking. 12/10/2020 Wash Day Regimen 1) Wash hair with TGIN Moisture Rich Sulfate Free Shampoo 2) Apply TGIN Honey Miracle Hair Mask (sit under hair dryer for 30 minutes, then rinse in cold water) 3) Apply Aloe Vera 4) App ..read more

Hair Tips from Ultra Black Hair
Natural Hair TLC

I found these hair tips on (UBH) Ultra Black Hair to be very useful. These are questions that I have had during my natural hair journey. I hope they will answer some of your questions as well. Hair Tip 1 I am still unclear on co-washing. Could you provide greater detail as to why you do not support co-washing? My thoughts are, when you take a shower you don’t rub lotion all over your body and say you had a shower, you use soap. When you wash your clothes, you don’t put fabric softener in the machine and say your clothes have been washed. The same is true of your hair. You cant possibly "wash ..read more

New York City Is Catching On to the Curls
Natural Hair TLC

Here you’ll find an article about the complexity behind natural hair, a topic that is often ignored. By Allana J. Barefield She walked into Miss Jessie’s hair salon in Lower Manhattan with a smile on her face, her honey-caramel curls bouncing as she proceeded to the washing station for a wash and go — a shampoo, some product, a quick blast under the dryer and then a blow dry with a diffuser to fluff out the volume of her ringlets. There were no harmful chemicals used, no taut blow drying, no suppressing the mass of corkscrew curls that were her natural look. For Loretta Rucker, the curly hair ..read more
