The San Antonio Spurs completed the 2023-24 season in victorious fashion. Even though the Spurs were without Victor Wembanyama, Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan, Malaki Branham and Cedi Osman, San Antonio still cruised to a 123-95 victory over the lowly Detroit Pistons to finish the season with a record of 22-60. The good guys dominated the second quarter and the game was never again in doubt. Truthfully, the Pistons didn’t put up much of a fight. They weren’t interested in winning this game at all. The Spurs, on the other hand, were playing hard and playing to win. Stats: Spurs vs ..read more

The San Antonio Spurs will play their final game of the 2023-24 NBA campaign on Sunday afternoon versus the Detroit Pistons at the Frost Bank Center. The Spurs have a record of 21-60, which is tied with the Portland Trail Blazers for the worst record in the Western Conference. At 14-67, the Pistons have the worst record in the entire NBA. Sadly, the big news for the Spurs is that Victor Wembanyama won’t play against the Pistons. The star rookie played 37 minutes against the Denver Nuggets so the coaching staff has decided to sit him for the final game of the season. In that contest versus the ..read more

In what will go down as one of the most memorable games of Victor Wembanyama’s rookie season, the San Antonio Spurs stunned the Denver Nuggets at the Frost Bank Center on Friday night. The loss dropped the Nuggets from the top seed in the Western Conference all the way down to the third seed.  The first quarter was neck and neck. At the end of the period, the Spurs were up 32-31. The Nuggets turned up the physicality in the second quarter. Specifically, they started being rough with Wembanyama. The strategy worked, as Denver won the second period by 19 points, 37-18. In the third, the Nug ..read more

The San Antonio Spurs will play their second to last game of the season versus the Denver Nuggets. Both of San Antonio’s remaining games will be played at home at the Frost Bank Center. The Spurs currently have a record of 20-60, while the Nuggets sport a 56-24 record. The Spurs were missing a lot of players in their last outing, a 127-89 thrashing at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Zach Collins led the way with 20 points and he was one of the few players who performed at an adequate level (see the Grades). The Nuggets have a lot of motivation for tonight’s game. The San Antonio Spurs will play their second to last road game of the season tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies. While both the Spurs and the Grizzlies have been far from playoff contention for a long time now, both teams have actually played well recently. The Spurs, with a record of 19-59, are 4-3 in their last seven games. All three of their losses were close games. San Antonio lost to the Golden State Warriors by four points, the Denver Nuggets by five points and two nights ago to the Philadelphia 76ers in double overtime. In that Sixers loss, Victor Wembanyama led the way with 33 point ..read more

Even though the 2023-24 campaign is coming to a close and there is no postseason in sight, the San Antonio Spurs are still playing like a team that wants to win. On Friday night, the Spurs battled once again and came away with another victory. This time, it was a 111-109 win over the Pelicans in New Orleans. The Spurs limped out of the gates. The offense sputtered throughout the first quarter and then their defense struggled in the second quarter. At halftime, the Pelicans had a ten-point lead, 61-51. At that point, the Spurs could have simply rolled over and died. They were playing without De ..read more

The San Antonio Spurs gave an amazing effort but ended up coming short against the Denver Nuggets. Going into the game, the Spurs were without four players: Devin Vassell, Jeremy Sochan, Keldon Johnson and Dominick Barlow. During the game, Cedi Osman went down with an injury. Despite the difficult cirumstances, San Antonio battled and battled before eventually losing to the defending NBA champions by a final count of 110-105. The Spurs were down double-digits a few minutes into the game and it looked like it’d be a long night for the good guys. Thankfully, San Antonio had different plans. Goin ..read more
