The Hawks offseason has begun, and it’s expected to be a tumultuous one headlined by rumors surrounding their two star guards, Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, the former of which announced yesterday that he has switched agencies. When I say it, I really mean it.. Another Day, Another Opportunitypic.twitter.com/9SIBo22Lg3 — Trae Young (@TheTraeYoung) May 7, 2024 Trae Young was previously represented by Rich Paul’s Klutch Sports, which is a primary reason why a lot of people constantly connect him to Lebron James and the Lakers, who have shown an interest in acquiring Young. Trae Young on Anthony Edwards: “Should’ve been a Hawk to start”

The emergence of Anthony Edwards into superstardom has been the talk of the NBA playoffs so far. The 22-year-old led the Timberwolves to a dominating sweep of Phoenix in the opening round, which left most discussing what the hell is going wrong with the Suns. In hindsight, they should have been focused on what’s going right in Minnesota. A week later, everyone is now well aware of the real story. Edwards has led the Wolves to back-to-back wins in Denver over the defending champions, and frankly, the two sides don’t even appear to be playing the same sport. At this point, a sweep of the Nuggets ..read more

Trae Young next team odds if not Atlanta Hawks

Like every NBA offseason, this Summer is going to feature stars on the move, and the Atlanta Hawks could be a focal point in the superstar carousel. Most pundits believe the club will trade one of Trae Young or Dejounte Murray, with the latter being the most popular name floated in trade hypotheticals among Hawks fans. That’s not necessarily the case with other teams’ fans. It’s hilarious too because throughout the season every fan base criticizes Trae Young as a player until it’s time for trade rumors. Then, he’s the perfect piece for [insert team here]. I don’t expect the Hawks to trade Trae ..read more

Hawks are the betting favorites to land All-Star in trade

The Hawks are expected to make wholesale changes to the roster this offseason. Most expect the club to trade one of Dejounte Murray or Trae Young, with the former being the most popular guess. However, if they move Murray, it can’t be in a move to reset the roster. Trae Young’s patience is clearly wearing thin with the organization. Nobody should blame him either. Since coming to Atlanta, Tony Ressler and the Hawks have failed Trae Young. If Landry Fields’ ultimate decision is to move Dejounte Murray, the first-time GM cannot expect Young to wait around on a rebuild. Fields has to put a compet ..read more

Hawks officially shake up front office personnel ahead of pivotal offseason

The Atlanta Hawks have seemingly been at a crossroads every offseason since their magical Eastern Conference Finals run some years ago, but it feels different this Summer. The club has to make changes, and not just minor tweaks to the roster. Wholesale changes need to come. Most NBA pundits believe the Hawks will trade one of Trae Young or Dejounte Murray, with the latter being the most popular option. Though the offseason could bring a sense of newfound hope, some Hawks fans (like me) aren’t as confident in the organization. It’s a franchise that has tripped over itself time and time again, t ..read more

It’s the offseason, which means the Hawks are finally interesting. Following another disappointing season, it seems the club is finally at a crossroads to make a significant change to a roster that has only had one major shake-up when they traded for Dejounte Murray. The overwhelming expectation is that the Hawks will trade one of Murray or Trae Young. There’s a world where they trade both or neither, but most likely, one of the All-Stars will be playing in different threads next year. With an unproven front office and ownership that is one-foot-in, one-foot-out, I’m not sure how Hawks fans ha ..read more

Trae Young’s patience with Hawks seems to be wearing thin

The Atlanta Hawks are at a crossroads with Trae Young and Dejounte Murray. The All-Star point guards can be pieces to a championship team but not together. The fit with two-ball dominant guards was always going to be wonky, and we may have underestimated just how bad it would be. Now, the Hawks are heading into treacherous waters with relatively inexperienced captains on this ship. The front office is led by a first-time GM in Landry Fields and a first-time executive of any kind in Kyle Korver. Atlanta has a few options. They could trade Murray and build around Young, or vice versa. They could ..read more

The Hawks offseason began a couple of weeks ago when they failed to get out of the play-in tournament for the first time ever. Atlanta sits at a crossroads this offseason. With trade rumors circling Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, a young and relatively inexperienced front office will have to guide the organization through treacherous waters. One club that will consistently be connected to the Hawks is the Lakers. Los Angeles’ season just ended following a gentlemen’s sweep at the hands of the Nuggets. The biggest question for the Lakers is what will LeBron James do, but it’s far from the only ..read more

The Hawks season ended on Wednesday night, as they were trounced by the Bulls in the play-in tournament. It was the third consecutive season that Atlanta found themselves in the play-in tournament. However, this was the first time they failed to make it out. To say the season was a failure would be an understatement. Major changes are coming, and the first domino has fallen, as the Hawks are hiring Golden State’s Onsi Saleh to be an Assistant General Manager. ESPN Sources: Atlanta is hiring Golden State’s Onsi Saleh as an assistant general manager. Saleh — who had been VP of Basketball Strate ..read more

Trae Young on staying with Hawks: “I want to be here… But…”

In probably the least shocking development of the entire NBA season, the Hawks decided to essentially stand pat last offseason, and they ended up getting the exact same results as they did a year ago, squeaking into the play-in tournament before ultimately getting eliminated. This time around, they didn’t even get the pleasure of being bounced by the Celtics in the first round. The Bulls dominated the Hawks on Wednesday night, ending their season in what felt a lot like shooting a wounded animal out of its misery. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expec ..read more
