The Pull of Autumn has released a cover of The Orchid’s “I Was Just Dreaming.” The Boston/Rhode Island collective has done justice to the original. The video is beautiful. There is something captivating about the young lady who looks stunning while contemplating her past and future life choices. If only we could all look just as camera-ready while making decisions.  I would like to give a shoutout to whoever paired the white suit and black nails. The combination speaks volumes without saying anything. It’s striking and impressive. Recently, I watched an episode of “Feud: Capote vs. The S ..read more

In this week’s Top 5 Tuesday post, we’re sharing the best books about cheese that we recommend. April is National Grilled Cheese Month and what better way to celebrate it than by reading books about cheese? If you’re a cheese lover like me, you’ll enjoy reading about the world of cheesemaking and learning how different types of cheese are made. If that’s not enough, there’s also a mystery series that revolves around a cheeseshop owner, which I’m sure will be a treat for all mystery lovers out there. There are also books about how to remove cheese from your life. Who needs that kind of negativ ..read more

Gramercy Arms: New Music Monday

Indie pop collective Gramercy Arms presents a new video for ‘Never Say Anything (Magic Door Session).’ Although, it is a new song, ‘Never Say Anything’ is an instant classic. Just this morning, I have listened to it an insane amount of times. “Never Say Anything’ is now on my indie Spotify playlist. I will probably need to hear it again while at the bakery and hanging out with the neighbor cat. Fans of Wilco, Deathcab for Cutie or Elliot Smith will appreciate the music and lyrics of Gramercy Arms. “I initially thought about doing a double album and then decided against it ..read more

It is a good day to do the The NetGalley Book Tag again. Some of my answers are the same as the 2023 post but not all are the same. I found the tag on Anniemieke’s blog, A Dance with Books. AUTO-APPROVED: WHO’S ONE AUTHOR WHOSE BOOKS YOU AUTOMATICALLY WANT TO READ, REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT? Rebecca Roanhorse REQUEST: WHAT MAKES YOU WANT TO REQUEST A BOOK ON NETGALLEY? Different things make a book appealing to me – the cover, the description, the author, etc. FEEDBACK RATIO: DO YOU REVIEW EVERY BOOK YOU READ? IF NOT, HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT BOOKS TO REVIEW? I have revie ..read more

Tess Anderson: Track of the Day
Chasing Destino

Tess Anderson, an alt-pop/rock musician based in Vancouver, has a single, “Self-Control” off of her upcoming album. We named it Track of the Day due to its raw honesty and boldness. She has several songs that are incredible but this one is our favorite. We don’t have any self-control either. Now struggle more with resisting donuts than romantic temptations. I wish that I could tell you no I wish that I could take things slow But I just don’t have that self control “Self-Control”  The alt-pop infused album from Anderson, “Before I Come Unhinged,” will be available for repetitive playing ..read more

So I’m going to be doing an interview with lo-fi roots duo, Gibson and Toutant. I hope I said that right. So Josephine McRobbie and Joe O’Connell will be here soon. Somebody’s in the waiting room. I better let them in. Chasing Destino Hello? Oh, hi. Joe: Hi, Holley. How’s it going? CD: Oh, it’s going. It’s going all right. Joe: Well… Josephine was going to do the call with you, but she’s wound up busy. So I am instead. CD: Oh, okay. That’s okay. Stuff happens. So what have you been up to? Joe: Oh wow. Kind of daily life. Yeah, Josephine just went to Indiana to see the eclipse. And I stayed he ..read more

Disintegration of Cleveland has just released an incredible new single called “In Your Diary” as a sneak peek to their upcoming album. The song is absolutely captivating and mysterious – just like the band itself. Despite my extensive search, I was unable to find any photos of the band. However, I did manage to locate a music video for their song “Make a Wish.” I strongly urge you to check out the music video for “Make a Wish” and experience for yourself the one-of-a-kind sound that this post-punk Cleveland band has to offer. Don’t miss out on Disintegration! Lineup Christopher Brown Noah An ..read more

Mvrrow: Sleep Deprived Music Review
Chasing Destino
by holley4734
1w ago
Mvrrow, a melodic doom metal group, has a new EP available everywhere. The debut EP,”Fever Dream,” is a perfect fit for any nightmare someone might have about their ex. The vibe of the music is bit spooky like Maleficent, where heroes are villains and vice versa. The Minnesota-based band combines clean classical vocals with metal growls and screams for captivating and powerful sound. If the album was a book, it would be a Gothic fairtytale. The music does tell a story about being weak and becoming powerful, victim to survivor, etc. Bands that are somehwhat similiar to Mvrrow, check out Monte ..read more
