Have you ever seen a sub try to be popular with students and let students do things they normally wouldn’t be allowed to? Like running down the hallway, sit at lunch with students and don’t consult with table duty teacher and let students get up when not allowed and not sit where they normally do, and not go along with lesson plans? How do you handle that ..read more

Hello! I am applying to MAT courses in order to finish up my teacher certification. A couple of the programs I am looking at are online. While it would save me gas money and commute time, I would not be getting the human interaction and feedback I would get in a traditional class. What are your experiences with online ed courses? Let me know what you think ..read more

At the local community college there are two teaching openings for which I have the required education (well for one, for sure, the second might not work)

I am wondering where I might be able to gain experience outside of the system that might help me the next time I apply or better still how to get into the community college system itself. In addition to Multiple Subject and Special Education credentials , I also have an MSW in social work and a PPSC credential. while I have 16...

It was so fun and amazing and she kept up with it for years. Eventually that became her asking my phone for jokes on the way to school. I loved it as it helped get their frame of mind in a positive place before they started their school day.
About a month ago they asked me to help turn our daily...

When I try taking it away, a tantrum ensues, and honestly I'd rather teach my other 25 children than handle the tantrum of one, so I don't fight it all that much. Reward doesn't seem to do anything because the student does whatever they want, punishment doesn't have much of an effect because the student will...
